Now we have been told by the horses mouth via Eclair (thank you for investigating the missing BFS), I think we should have a tribute page.... The shirt is now me. It is the means by which my friends recognise me and next to which my face performs only a secondary reserve role. It would be missed if it wasn’t there. - James May 2009 you'll be missed taxi to the mad house for one pleaseAs told by the Horses Mouth Mr May himself the said BFS is now gone as last year whilst in Sydney he came a cropper in a bush. He still has the remnants.

It was mentioned once on here that when the BFS became no more, James should cut it in to small squares so each of us could have a piece of it, as a memorial.... James over to you ;D

Those would be very tiny squares Maybe bronze it and display it at the Top Gear set or take it with him to book signings. Defiantly bronze it. .....What's left of it.

But it would have to be very small pieces indeed.. But a small piece is better than nothing at all? It would still have been James' shirt ;D

Think that was me Jacqui, suggesting that we each bought a tiny piece of the BFS, with the money going to J's favourite charity. Must find my tribute poem to the BFS. It's on here somewhere.

Found the poem and added a third verse - hope it makes you giggle...
Ode to the BFS
You match me in paleness, the blue of my eyes, You hold me, enfold me, caressing my thighs, By you I am comforted, safe and secure, You save me from demons, no fear anymore. My constant companion wherever I roam Be it over the ocean or nearer to home.
You have your own place in the hearts of the few who acknowledge the significance that I give you. I've loved you so long that you're part of me now, I'll never discard you, I'll honour this vow. My magical talisman, fame-bringer, friend, Your story's a legend that never will end. -------------------------------------------------
OK, I've outgrown you in more ways than one, Perhaps you're now dusters or completely gone. I no longer need you, the world knows my name, But you'll be immortal, you've JMB fame. Dear Blue Flowery Shirt, so sad now you're gone, Just realised, they're not flowers, it's leaves you had on!

I underestimated the news of its demise ;D Thank you very much for the ode M-O-A! ;D Last night I asked Mr May to sign my "Car Fever" book - obviously because of its reference to the BFS (and us at JMB)...and he said said original BFS had met its demise due to one of his er...'minders' there (one brunette of a group of pretty BBC girls!) had pushed him into a bush and hence it must have got rather damaged...well thats what I was told anyway ;D ;D ;D Can't remember the bit about where it met its demise....was it here (in Aus)? Mr Eclair must have a better memory than me...

RIP, shirt.
Sad to think that after a faithful lifetime of protecting the world from the sight of exposed James-flesh, you must be in a landfill now. After all, if it weren't for you, o shirt, he would have been naked, and...
...wait, why are we mourning again?

Yes I have a better memory as some of us were too busy being bossy and swooning! ;D ;D But as said by Mr May... he said "it met it's demise last time we were here (australia... Sydney to be exact) and *pointing* SHE pushed me into a bush" So there you have it really... and yes SHE in question was a very attractive little brunette pommy BBC girl groupie.. (not as attractive as Eclair)....
