We've all seen the grammatical gaffs and misspellings made by sign makers, labels that tell us food will be hot coming out of the oven and such. There are many websites on the interweb and groups on FaceBook dedicated to these absurdities and inanities. Forgive me, but I love them! ;D ;D I thought of making this thread because of something I read on a label tonight while making dinner. "Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Remove outer sleeve and tray. Open inner pouch and empty product into your oven-safe pan. Cover your pan with foil. Place your pan in the oven and heat for 12-15 minutes or until the product is hot & ready to serve. CAUTION YOUR PAN AND PRODUCT WILL BE HOT."This is word for word and capitalization. I certainly hope my product is hot after heating until hot! This is from the new hair dryer I bought recently. Of course then there are the funny signs that are truly meant to be funny! ;D ;D ;D Two of my favorites!

This was pretty cool: "No wonder you always go home alone." - Sign over mirror in Men's restroom, Ed Debevic's, Beverly Hills, CA ;D And a couple more I found:

Too bad I didn't read this at work, my bag of 'mixed nuts' says - 'Allergy advice: contains tree nuts'

I've always worried about this... A good friend of mine from university bought similar signs for his apartment. His new roommate moved in, and the sign he'd put on his door said "Beware of Attack Squirrel." (other friend has a nickname involving the word squirrel). So...he then glanced to my friend's door. Which had this sign on it. "Beware of Attack A***ole" ;D ;D ;D Us MTU alums are a weird bunch.

This one is truly brilliant!! I must admit though, that I NEVER actually sit on a public toilet, gruesome! Too bad I didn't read this at work, my bag of 'mixed nuts' says - 'Allergy advice: contains tree nuts' Funny you mention this, as I'm always annoyed by things like that. F.E. if something is QUITE OBVIOUS that's in the product, as for example milk in a milkproduct or yes, nuts in, well, a bag of nuts, I really have the urge to call the company and ask if they're even aware of what they're selling...

Huge Bump! This doesn't truly qualify as a 'sign' but it did make me laugh. This came in the mail today. I've never subscribed to Newsweek, it just appears for some strange reason. He looks like he's standing up at a 12-step program meeting! Hi! I'm Dave... ;D ;D

Was running around on errands today with a camera for a change. This one is at several intersections. It's for the call button for the walk sign. Instead of being at human height, it's up on a pole at horse height so you don't have to dismount or lean over. More cleaver than silly I suppose. Trust me, this gate isn't that dangerous. What would you have to do to get caught in gate meant for cars. Stand there until it crushed you?! Notice, this sign is at dog height. I'm sure my dog has never read it.

Great signs, AM!! ;D I stole this from Twitter today. It was taken in Tesco. I don't know what this product is, but I'm sure that I don't want any of it.

Would it be worth getting just for the clubcard points? Not entirely sure it's edible....

What do you think should have been in place of children?

I have a <<placque>> in the rear window of my car which reads "Danger: Gonzesse au Volant." In English, it reads "Danger: Broad at the wheel." If I get my case outdoors, I'll take a photo of it; it looks like a EU number plate.

A couple of years ago in Australia a recipe book had to be withdrawn as it contained ta recipe book with the phrase "add salt and freshly ground black people" instead of "black pepper". That's a seriously big 'Oops'.

That's a seriously big 'Oops'. I was going to respond, but if I do, I'll probably be hunted down by the authorities. Here's something that's a bit concerning. This is from one of the banner ads at the top of the page. If I'm going to look like that when I'm 55, I may as well throw in the towel now! Skincare secret = Photoshop. (Whoops, it's a secret!!)

Bit of a bump for this thread! They closed a roundabout near me. For a few days before the closure, there were signs saying "Roundabout Closing Monday July 24 9 PM."
They realized their mistake, though! And then changed ONE of them. The other kept saying Monday the 24th until they took it down.

I came across a little lane today that had 4 signs at its beginning: Enter, Do Not Enter, and Exit (forget what the 4th was). Sorry, no camera.
