I never had any problems taking photos at the Earls Court shows and these are organised by the same people, so I assume it'll be fine.

We've got the same allocation so agrred, only enough time to powder ones noses and take ones seat ;D Absolutely post show drinks sounds good. And if they stop me taking pictures i will scream and scream and scream and scream and then scream some more ;D Are any of you up for a later drink by the venue?I don't know how long the show lasts but I presume it won't be until after 8.

We go to the track at 3-4.20 & then the show at 6. If nothing can be sorted it's ok but it would be nice to have a drink and make your proper aquaintance.

I still can't remember exactly what time show we're seeing on the Saturday - jacqui books the show tickets, I organise the hotel! I can't imagine the show being longer than previous years, which would mean it should run for one and a quarter/half hours, freeing up its audience by 7.30 at the latest.
Should we make a tentative arrangement for, perhaps, around 8pm in the main Hilton bar? It's the hotel nearest the NEC itself and the bar I'm thinking of is just behind reception (if I remember rightly) so is easy to find. We could be flexible with the time - I know I will probably want to change (and soak my sore feet!) before taking to the bar!
Jacqui might want to add more later, plus anyone else who's thinking of joining us got any other suggestions?

Thats sounds an excellent plan Dit ;D We're at the 3pm show by the way ;D Like you say its not far from the NEC at all, we can gather from 8pm onwards and peeps can stay as long they like ;D Its quite a big bar and last year had quite a good atmosphere going on and they do food (sorry always thinking about my stomach!!) Looking forward to seeing everyone ;D

Hey everyone, on your ticket does it say no cameras allowed ( for the show) On my tickets for the Perth Australian shows it strictly says no cameras. Did it say this for the Mel and Bris shows for the aussies who went this year?? Pretty sad if i cant take a snap of the boys seeing as im front row centre even without a flash! Said the same for the Bris shows Jester. I didn't bother to try to sneak any as we were sitting miles away. Spent most of the show staring at the boys through my binoculars, and telling MOH that I got a good look at the cars that way........

Don't they have a piano in the bar/foyer of that Hiton? Maybe James will come and lay down some tunes for y'all! What I wouldn't give to witness that!

Is it too early fo some xmas tinsel strategically placed ;D Hmm. It need to be something quite subtle but that we will recognise immediately. How about printing off the home page of the JMB, then folding it so that the picture and title at the top is showing. It could then be put on the table if the person's sitting, or held in the hand until contact is made. To anyone else, each of us would just be carrying a flyer from the show or the hotel. I know not everyone has a printer, but perhaps those ladies could go to a local library or print it at work? Actually, it wouldn't be the end of the world if not everyone could do it, as long as some can, then those without will quickly find those with. It's just an idea, though perhaps we should have had a lot more silly suggestions first!

I suppose we could don Interceptors garb (tash and glasses), but the Hilton is reasonably classy and we might look a bit conspicuous!
Also, it being Saturday night, we might pick up some rather strange 'followers'.

I think a folded header is a good plan stick on a bit of card or just fold and have it like a reserved notice on the table (if we can find one!) - obvious to those who know - not so to those who don't!!! And you never know who may spot us ;D

Whatever you do, can I urge discretion - some of the older members of the board may remember the problems we had with inappropriate behaviours that got the JMB a bit of an unwelcome reputation. While we all know those days are gone, mud unfortunately sticks, so it might be wise to use something other than a print of the board header. A picture of a Fiat Panda, perhaps?

Well we'd hate to have a reputation so carnation in pocket and tash it is!!lol (Pray tell though what happened to inapproriate members. What did they do that was inappropriate!).
I'll be the one who looks like a 60's throw back travelling with a 6ft 5" skin head and a girl who looks like a bag of spanners(more thrown on clothes than dressed. How about we put something red on our handbags handles;a piece of red ribbon or a scarf?

I wasn't suggesting a chuffing big notice board but lets just tie a yellow ribbon round something shall we - glass - bottle what ever!
I think discretion goes without saying.

I think I should clarify - I'm not saying that you're going to do anything or say anything in the least inappropriate, but I'm more worried that there will be people from other sites who might be a bit off and make things awkward because they remember the nutters who really didn't know the meaning of the work 'discretion' and who gave us one hell of a reputation to get over, and as a result they tend to tar all of us with that particular brush. Me to,I go to Birmingham all the time(nothing to brag about believe me) and I've never been the NEC(that I can remember anyway). I'm hopeless with directions so maybe just following a crowd might be an option.

Why won't they come to the States? They started running our PBS shows in the UK this week. I bet they would get a lot more people over here! As everyone said to me in the UK we are a lot bigger and have more people. Sorry just frustrated!

Because we are too big. Would they want to do shows in all 50 states? If they were to do a show in Calif, that's not helpful to me...it's almost as far as the UK. So it's tough luck. The least the BBC could do is release all their past shows on DVD for the US region (incl ManLab, etc, not just TG).
