If you like your James 'a bit rough and smelly' (his words, not mine!) you will love his review of the Range Rover

Ah, yes, I was being dim too. Note to self - read the instructions before putting foot in mouth.
Can I have James 'rough and smelly' please? I imagine he has very high standards in cleanliness and isn't really smelly at all. Rough I can deal with.

Enjoyable. Maybe didn't set the world on fire as much, although I liked the bit about the second hand cars, especially the little Mazda. Vettel did well, but I still don't like him.

Andypanty was that you in the audience again, how do you do it? Remember me? Stuck in the snow when James was signing on Dec 1st? Not jealous... much!

Very good episode- Although one thing did catch my eye and am waiting for the journoroaches to get their grubby little mits round it. After James piece on the.....erm....car....wasnt really watching the car to be honest *polishes halo* Jeremy's remark about the guy dressing as cher? I realise that it was completely innocent but really, as much as I love the man he needs to think before he speaks!

I thought this was a good, solid episode but the only segment that I felt was really up to TG top standard was James in the Range Rover. I watched in HD and the cinematography was exceptional. The colour tone and depth of field they get is phenomenal.
The McLaren was very impressive and reminded me that there are some carpers who still maintain that Clarkson 'can't drive' - er. excuse me?
I enjoyed the cheap car challenge but I hope to god that James was joking about the hair. Unfortunately the comment fitted in with this 'grumpy old man' persona that he seems to have adopted this series. Surely he wouldn't go for the 'baldy' look, really........would he........?
Oh, and inevitably I had to have a small snort at 'ladyjuice'.

Agree re James adopting the old man persona, as the James in the Death Valley piece wasn't like that in any way. This is the part of the show I find irritating - the put on characters. It might be more interesting to see the three real presenters instead of the acts at times. As for Jezza opening his mouth before his brain has engaged, again it's a bit of a cliche.
But, I do think this series is much better than the last one or two.

I must admit that there are times when the filming and the music just seem to gel together in a way that sticks in my mind and won't go away. For me there's when all three are driving on the freeway into New Orleans with (by coincidence) "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves" playing, there's "Living for the Weekend" with the ice hockey, and now I can add "Gimme Shelter" as James accelerates out of the darkness towards the lights of Vegas.
That is one of my favourite Stones tracks; don't know what it is about it, but as soon as the intro starts my insides slide with the notes, and those two sharp beats that take you into the song really bring you up sharp to start rocking. Fabulous track, now with a fabulous image to go with it.
(Sorry, think I was releasing my inner rock chick a bit there!)

Guess it was my turn to be bored this week. I kinda tuned out and started watching something else on my computer. And playing with my sketch book and oil pastels. I liked the segment James did in Death Valley because his singing along to Cher, his comment on getting in with the crew and going right home if the car broke down, and basically he made me giggle a lot. The rest of the episode just bored me. A lot. SIARPC was all right, the guest did have a great sense of humor, but I really had a hard time paying attention to the rest of it.

Well, I guess that answers the question for me what was he doing in the US a little while back and was he in my neck of the woods. Death Valley, eh? Well, I'm not sure if I'd even drive out to the desert to catch a glimpse of him....well....maybe...well....no I hate the desert.
LISTEN TOP GEAR! Come to Laguna Beach! We have everything you would ever need. Fabulous cars just sitting at the starbucks, film studios, crew and equipment near-by, nice scenery and US Top Gear is 15-20 minutes up the road! Could I make it any easier!
Call before you come. I'll put the kettle on.
