Gosh, that was long! Yet it was exactly as I remember it. You'd never get away with it today, assumption of short attention spans, and all that!
And the cars.........only there for a split second, but they were so important!

The cars were fabulous! That was just a great show all round. I remember a few years ago one of the satellite channels was showing it again and I think I spent most of my revision and study time 'revising' 70s dramas and 'studying' the cars, the amazing locations and yes, the pretty girls in bikinis. It all looked so exotic and fantastic Mind you, I also had a soft spot for the Volvo P1800 Roger Moore drove in The Saint. That was remarkably pretty. Still wouldn't kick one of those off the drive!

Someone on DS suggested that the TG3 should do a 70s cop spoof for the next Comic Relief. Sounds like a good idea to me ;D ;D

Thanks for the explanation Wyvern. You're very welcome. I love 70s cult telly ;D Someone on DS suggested that the TG3 should do a 70s cop spoof for the next Comic Relief. Sounds like a good idea to me ;D ;D The only problem there is that there won't be another Comic Relief until 2013. If they can contrive to build the plot around a sports person - or have 'James Steed' cover for Des Lynam - they might be able to do something for Sport Relief next year though. That's what TGGF was for in 2008. OTOH, Children in Need's at the end of November, so I reckon people should drop a few emails Mr Wilman's way to point out that their filming schedule might actually allow it for once, given that they'll be doing Christmas tat and pre-series filming for S18...

What was that series of that era with Alexandra Bastedo in the strong but sexy role? I'll have to look that up now.
I enjoyed the 70s skit immensely - Mr Crumbs nearly wet himself. I also enjoyed the demolition: I know it's very predictable but it still made me laugh.
I was expecting Bob to be ghastly - somehow rude or objectionable! I had no particular opinion of him and I thought he was fine - maybe not as amusing as some others but hey ho. I suppose some of you just don't like him - each to their own. There's been a few SITRPC guests that I haven't been keen on in the past.

Here's "The Interceptors" titles: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLp4FhDAfQkThere's Jeremy living out his fantasy of being surrounded by bikini clad, adoring women and Richard, who likes a fight, karate chopping everyone while James,as you'd expect, is doing things properly and actually dispatching the baddies. I love it. ;D
