I looked him up on imdb. It says he was born in Vancouver. I went through his entire list of credits, and I haven't seen a single movie or television show he's been in. Let's hope he makes an interesting guest. ;D

I thought most people had seen the Proposal because Betty White sort of stole the show.

Another guest from the other side of the Atlantic? Have they genuinely run out of celebs from the UK who can drive? Nothing personal to those from the US and canada, but it's looking like the segment should be officially called USOCSIARPC (US Or Canadian Star In A Reasonably Priced Car).

I would genuinely prefer a British personality. Those are the ones I'm most familiar with. ;D I had no idea who the first guest was... and really, I still don't. I only know Matt because he was in Friends. Ryan is a mystery to me.
Anyone know who the rest of the guests are supposed to be for the series?

More information from Val d'Isere. From the photos, it looks like one hell of a place. Funny, I can't imagine James 'on piste', bearing in mind his oft-stated feelings on snow. Off piste, certainly, and very probably just 'piste', but I didn't think he had any fondness for skis. www.skitotal.com/news/index.php/category/ski-news/

James on ski's would seem as likely as me on ski's. He must not have the full hatred of snow that I have, snow is bad and evil.Should be banned and pavements should be heated.

Yes snow is evil! I'm from the north and I hate the crud! Although I do like telling people from the south that I'm not afraid to drive in it-the expressions are often priceless!

Doesn't say how. Perhaps he's bowling down it in an old tyre - which I believe you can do at some resorts - and you can do it piste. He's probably just looking at it, though. I hope he's actually going to be doing some driving. I feel a bit short-changed when he just rides shotgun with a professional driver.

Laughing at the image of James bowling down the ski run in an old tyre, totally inebriated, waving a beer bottle in his hand (the latest of many previously imbibed) and singing lustily at the top of his voice - before skidding to a halt at the bottom, falling out of the tyre and lying on his back in the snow, giggling helplessly.

Do you remember James's last outing on skis, I think it was when they were doing training for the trip to the North Pole. He didn't look as though he was in control, even with Jeremy shouting instructions. I think he skiied into Hammonds backside.

When you said "old tyre", I pictured one of those giant inner tubes that you straddle and roll down the hill like a wheel. ;D I somehow don't think the beer would survive (and neither would he, probably). Your story is much more believable - I reckon he'd do something like that if he was tanked! ;D

Yeah, I was thinking in terms of sitting on the tyre, like on a teatray, then careering down at breakneck speed. I think you'd probably have to be a bit plastered for that. Though come to think of it, you'd have to be sufficiently alert to keep your bum raised off the snow or you could end up rather sore.
(Goes away to consider the logistics of tyre-sledging and whether it would be too dangerous to contemplate, sober or drunk.)

When I was a kid we decided to have a go of that inside a truck wheel. It never ended well and one of my friends broke a wrist and I nearly knocked myself out at the end.Not a wise way to travel.

Tires aren't good but inner tubes work great. When we were kids, we always used inner tubes from tractor tires to go sliding on.

Must admit, this looks like fun. Or it would. If I liked snow. Or being cold. Or moving very quickly downhill without anything to protect me, especially the sticky-outy bits that might break. Let's be honest, I wouldn't call it fun at all. Some might, though.

Lying stomach down on the inner tube is best! ;D ;D That is, if you liked the snow and the cold and having absolutely no control over your speed. ;D

A bit of late night posting - brain not in gear. Anyway, you can do this on some artificial slopes in the UK, as well as some resorts. I would think it was a bit beneath Val D'Isere though.

Somersaulting multiple times through the air when you hit a large wave and smacking into what effectively feels like concrete at a strange angle isn't as much fun in the instant it happens...but afterwards, the thought of it certainly is. ;D

What do you actually do when you apres ski? Is it just drinking (as in any old excuse)? I've always wondered.
