As we know, the Mail can be quite kind to James. I enjoyed reading this comment today on the Richard Kay page, and couldn't help thinking how very typical it is of the way we see James.
James May takes to the tow path Top Gear’s James May has found an admirable way to offset accusations that the prime-time motoring show does nothing to encourage a reduction in toxic pollution.
The presenter, nicknamed Captain Slow by his co-hosts, has bought a sit-up-and-beg bicycle and can be seen pedalling along the leafy paths of Palladian Chiswick House, the Thames-side stately home beloved of Mick Jagger and now run by English Heritage. At the weekend, May cycled to its lakeside lawn and listened in rapture to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra playing film scores.
But unlike other promenaders who paid £45 a ticket to get in, May cannily stood behind the security fence and heard it all for free. BBC — give the poor lad a pay rise.

Hehe - I like his style. At lest he wouldn't get bothered by not being in the grounds and he could listen in peace.

A man after my own heart. I listened to the Kaiser Chiefs perform from a mates garden. I've also listened to Last Night of The Prom,s which was held in Harewood House, from the perifery. The only thing you don't see is the spectacla, although sometimes you do.

Thats excellent. I think it's great that he trundles about on his bike. I too would loiter and listen if I came across music worth loitering for. And he wouldn't be stared at either. Well, apart from someone who told the Mail.
