We need to add several more categories: The Tux. The race suit. The blue velvet jacket deserves its own category. I'm not a fan of plaid shirts either, but I love this one. Leather jackets used to be my favorite... ...until I saw this. The white jumper rules.

That is just pure bloke! What more can you ask for than a chap with tools, a sharpened pencil and a mug of tea! James, you are Britain's sexiest bachelor!

Leather has its own distinct category - spills over into smell and feel as well as looks.

I think James looks excellent in everything he wears, although, there are a few articles I don't like (the red and white jumper he wore at the tree felling on Man Lab comes to mind). To clarify with you British folks, what exactly is a "jumper"? At first I thought it was just what we in the US call sweaters. Tops that are knit out of yarns. But I have "heard" it also applied to what we would just call long sleeve shirts (like most of his stripey tops) so I'm a little bit confused. Also, a little bit off topic but: Would most of you ladies consider him a bachelor? I mean I know technically he's not married, but he's been in a very long term relationship...he's not exactly available (as much as it may crush us to admit that ) so what do you think? Am I just too concerned with semantics?

I do not consider him a bachelor, nor available in any way. Being in a long term relationship is the same to me as being married, period. Regarding jumpers, sweaters etc..... I consider jumpers to be the knitted versions, sweaters are those things you wear when working out I guess, the fluffy stuff. Cardigans are the ones with the buttons and tops are the long sleeves tshirts. If anyone likes to correct me, be my guest

If kids are involved that would be another matter. Sweater wiki definition en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweaterwas going to tell you myself but can't be bothered.Sorry!

[/quote] On track indeed.... This picture may as well just define "my ideal bloke" - Shaggy, but yet sexy hair - Jacket to indicate he's into cool music - Sexy shirt - Hand in pockets, cool and casual look - Everything basically "thrown on" in about 2 minutes God, I love that bloke! However, I am not so keen on this look - Too Smart - Too "done up" - Too been farted about in make up department - Nope! That's not him.... doesn't suit him at all

Anyone got a picture of how he was dressed during the more formal part of the day? Perhaps missburlo would like that? No! Even the word formal makes me cringe. Men shouldn't take ages getting ready. And as for them new "modern men" who pluck their eyebrows... What the ruddy hell is that all about?

Well, he was accepting a Honorary Doctorate on that day, so there was a formal element to it

These are the more formal ones (apart from the posed one everyone's seen, that is easily found on Google). Sorry for the quality. Though there was a more informal part of the day

Like I said before, James looks good in everything he wears. But I prefer the casual outfits. And messy hair. The thing that's been bothering me most is this "trend" that men tend to turn into women more and more! Waxing, plucking, shaving (and I mean not just their face)... I think it is disturbing!) I like the fact that James dresses like a man, looks like a man and does not stuff like that (from what I've seen on the wine programme )

I agree with you Mayb - I like men to be proper manly - a plucked eyebrow (or even two) is a turn off for me!
Anyway, it's been a while.....and it's good to catch up on the latest pics. Spotted a very tasty one of Himself at the Grand National.
