I love playing boardgames (except on Christmas days and other celebration days when everybody has days off and goes playing games ) We (mother, brother, I) just played shuffle table...thing (don't know the exact translation). It's an old, Dutch game. When my friend from New Zealand was here for nearly two weeks (she was 6 months in the Netherlands, but spent two weeks at my place), she wanted to play this game constantely. Anybody else here that loves playing boardgames? And if not, maybe you like playing computergames? I don't like the last, btw.

It actually took a lot of thought and strategy. Taking over the world is a big job in that game.

We don't own Scrabble, how pathetic is that?!
I adore boardgames where one has to think - loads.
But I usually play games where one doesnt have to think too much, for those are the most sociable games, like Yahtzee, Battleship, Memory, Checkers, Triviant, Rummicub, Pang!, Fang den Hut, Connection 4, Mastermind etc.

What about Twister? Don't need to think at all, just be nimble.

I don't like Monopoly either. I do like Yahtzee, Articulate and a big favourite is Apples to Apples at the moment. I think we play cards mainly - I was brought up on Cribbage and all manner of Whist based games. The big favourite at the moment was introduced to us by my daughter's boyfriend but it has a crude name - very student like..... We love games in the Crumbs house and play all year round especially with guests who also like to play!

I grew up with me and my grandmother and granduncle playing Monopoly. Aah, good memories! Nowadays, when I walk around in Oslo, I can recognize several street names that I used to buy

My son got a Simpsons Monopoly for Christmas, we played three games and I won everyone. It caused much annoyance that I was continually bankrupting everyone.

I like to play Parcheesi. I think because I have find memories of playing it with my Mom mom when I was a kid. She used to let me win but I didn't figure that out until I was much older.
