Did he say he quit smoking or he cut down! You can't keep a good guy down. The Daily Mail comment is quite nasty.

Great photos from his stunt man trials. Has anyone seen a DVD release date for the first series?

Too bad there was a photo of him smoking. As one of the comments stated after the article, the cigarettes will kill him before any of the stunts will. Please quit, all of the TG guys!

BBC2 is starting the series tomorrow (Sunday 2nd September) at 7.15pm. They're hardly pushing the publicity - I wouldn't have realised except for a passing mention in my local paper!

I caught the logging episode from Season 1 on BBC Entertainment today by accident, and realised it was slightly different from the American version i had (downloaded and) wathced previously. And with "slightly different" i mean "a lot better". Little things, like a bit more explanation of what the machines actually do, and a bit more talking about it. A few small details making up a subtle but noticeable difference. I liked the American version, but i loved this one! (And the nice camera angles were still there. )

I'll have to watch it on i player and compare it to my DVRed US version. That's interesting.

I stumbled on it by accident, just in time to record it. Thoroughly enjoyable 45 minutes of genuine, cynicism-free telly (though the 'ability to take commands' test made me feel really unwell *g*).

I enjoyed it and felt the timeslot was just right. Richard was clearly having a great time but also learning some valuable lessons, not just about the tasks he was trying to complete. He really does have infectious enthusiasm, doesn't he? All of the TG3 must bless the day that they found themselves in jobs where they can just behave like man-sized little boys.

Just acted like a Sado and watched the i player version while I was letting the BBCA version on my DVR run. They are shot-by-shot identical including all the pop-ups with the exception 2 scenes that ran for an additional 3 mins. 26 sec. The missing scenes were a very short scene in the cafeteria and a longer scene explaining the rounds that the tank uses. I can only assume the scenes were cut for time. BBCA has to fit in commercials. Maybe you missed the info. the first time around due to Hammond's charming smile, winning personality and pale little legs in shorts. ;D That happens to me with James. I can watch his programs many times and still miss something. That's a good thing. I'm glad people are enjoying this program. The new season of it looks like it might take a slightly different format. It looks like less vehicles and more "Dirty Jobs" type tasks. Hope it's just as good if not better. GO RICHARD! The hardest working man in Brit. TV. Was anyone else seen "The Gunpowder Plot: Exploding the Legend" that Richard did 7 years ago or so? That was pretty good as were "Engineering Connections" and "Invisible Worlds".

But I am starting to think "my" channels are not quite the same as "yours". So, what I watched yesterday was the logging episode, on Entertainment. The differences I noticed were first and foremost much less cutting away/recap/"coming up", leading to a (in my opinion) more wathcable and "consistent" show, and at least two things that were not on the BBCA version: Actually planting a tree (as opposed to just being handed a tree and a shovel) and a bit of technical explanation of what the danglehead processor actually does. I also had the impression there were other small differences, but that could be because of the lack of commercial breaks. Whatever the reason, the episode I watched yesterday was much more "my cup of tea" than what I have on my hard drive. And yes, I have been known to get distracted. That's probably why I still don't know much about wine. Think I have to watch that wine show again soon ... ;D (Sorry about the long sentences. My sentence structure has beeen classified as "slightly bueraucratic", and I seem unable to stop it...)

Look forward to seeing the other episodes uncut. Thanks for the heads up.

Quick qoute from BBCA promotional material for season 2.
"Richard Hammond on the upcoming season: “This year’s Crash Course takes me places I really never thought I’d be. Right now, I’m halfway through filming and my butt still hurts from my days in the cowboy saddle - every time anyone raise an arm I think it’s a taxi fare stop - even on foot my scalp tingles from being on fire and I will NEVER forget the fear of walking on stage in a New York comedy club. But you know what they say: ‘what doesn’t kill you… makes great TV.’”
BBCA is running a very cute promo. commercial for season two, which is starting October 15th, but I can't seem to get a hold of a copy on the net yet.

I'm really looking forward to this when it's on UK TV. I liked the first series in a lazy kind of way, but this looks to be much more fun.

So, wasn't this supposed to premiere some days ago? I have seen absolutely no comments or downloads anywhere I usually find them (FinalGear, StreetFire, Youtube, here). Have I misunderstood completely?

Here's a 'Sneak Peek' BBC America posted today. When I saw this episode, I was worried for him 'cause of his accident before, and he mentioned his feelings and my heart ached for him. Utterly. I cant imagine what he was feeling as he took the wheel of that car in the middle of america, a place he's not familiar with. Ya know? My heart went out to him. <3 I cant help but say that I think Hamster is gorgeous. Like, I dont know why. I'm not really attracted to that kind of guy but ... ya. Same with James, though I think I love him more because he reminds me more of my boyfriend. And I miss him horribly. But Richard, he just seems like an all around awesome guy, beautiful on the inside and outside.
