Ratings from iPlayer from January to April show Top Gear coming in 4th and 7th place. The suggestion is that the massive difference between the Sherlock episode that came out first and everything else is that it was the episode where the character Irene Adler spends quite a lot of time without the benefit of clothing.
It still looks to me as if TG did pretty well.
