*Attempts happy dance*
*Starts coughing and sneezing*
*falls over*
(assuming that wasn't the story Jeremy was referring to when he said:)

Well I'm very glad Richard and James will be getting their fair share of the merchandising now. And.. "The Huffington Post"?? Is that a real paper? I want to work for them. "This is JM2 reporting for the Huffington Post." hehehehe (Sorry. Small minds etc. And possibly wine).

The Huffington Post is quite well respected for an online news medium. Ariana Huffington, who used to be Ariana Stassinopolus, used to be all over the radio when I was a nipper - Womans Hour, panel shows, that sort of thing. She married an American (called Huffington, natch) and moved over there and the Huffington Post has been around quite a while now. As far as I know, it only exists online. My perception of it is that it's pretty objective, but I don't know what anyone else thinks.
The Guardian, on the other hand, makes no pretence of objectivity, loathes TG and - boy! Doesn't that second article show it.

I didn't realise it was run by Ariana Stassinopolus. I used to like her; a bit of a firebrand as I recall and very quick-witted. I've been reading Huffington Post for quite a while without realising it was down to her.
This cropped up in an article in the Mirror. I have a feeling that's it probably the old chestnut that we hear every contract renegotiation time, but I find it interesting that it's arisen again. I'd love to know who all these 'insiders' are who populate the fringes of the media; there seem to be an awful lot of them!
It is believed that the previous arrangement had caused problems between Clarkson, 52, and his TV co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond.
An insider said: “James and Richard have watched Jeremy making a fortune out of the show for years, massively outstripping their own earnings.
"The pair of them both felt that they had been heavily involved in developing the show into the international success it has become, and they made it clear they felt the deal was unfair.”
Edit - final result of the Guardian poll 'Does Jeremy Clarkson deserve his multimillion-pound pay deal?'
67% Yes
33% No
