Wonder if it's worth finding a contact for Rowland French other than his Twitter? He definitely has the ear of the TG3 and is extremely involved in producing the show...

What a horrible, and expensive experience for you. I think you deserved a refund of some sort. I know these things can be difficult to get, as one person passes it on to another, and the chain never seems to end, but if you persist you usually get satisfaction of some sort.

I too went to the Top Gear Festival in Sydney on the 9th of March, I had a general admission ticket + afternoon grandstand (which I didn't get to utilise which I will explain later). The top gear festival Facebook site said you can upgrade to a grandstand ticket on the day, but didn't explain it very well as I thought I could pay the extra $10 for a seat in the morning session grandstand but when I reach the on site box office they said no as I had an afternoon seat and if I wanted one I would have to buy another full price ticket. Bugger that.
They didn't start on time and ran behind all day it seems. I walked to one of the grass areas and sat down and couldnt see much. I only heard James and Jeremy, never saw them. There was only one screen in one part of the festival. I ended up moving to another grassy area and because everyone was standing up I could see a thing either (being a shorty). So I decided to go and look at the displays and the other tracks/displays etc so that I would have the afternoon to enjoy my seat in the grandstand.
As Eclair said It was a very very hot day and I did a lot of walking around. Was very disappointed with Stig's Garage and some places you couldnt get into as it was packed. After walking from one end to the other and back I grabbed some lunch before the switch over from morning session to afternoon session. After getting a very expensive egg and lettuce sandwich and two drinks, I found a patch of grass to sit on. Then lined up for an age to use the toilet, I went and got some water and joined the EXTREMELY LONG LINE waiting to head into the grandstand for the afternoon session. The morning session had not quite finished and people were still in the grandstand.
After about 20 minutes standing in the hot sun, I felt a bit funny so I had a bit of water, but five minutes later I felt dizzy, nauseaus, weak. had heart palputations and then my eyes went blurry. I decided to get out of line there was nowhere to sit or no shade, I ended up walking over to the paramedics nearby as I felt I could easily collapse. The Paramedics took me to the onsite medical center and I had my blood pressure, blood sugar tested and and ecg done. My sugar and blood pressure was extremely high and I ended up being taken to hospital by ambulance where I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening being poked and prodded as well as being on too saline bags for dehydration, then told I had a chronic disease.
I didn't get to use my grandstand seat I paid for and didnt get to see James, Jeremy and Stiggy. It was quite dissappointing. I think it would of been better to stick to an arena show. BTW this was my first EVER Top Gear event.

Just caught up with all this. Eclair and P18, what massive disappointments for you. It sounds very disorganised and ill-thought out. And I definitely think you should both try to contact someone to complain, otherwise nothing will change. Not good enough TGL!!!!!! P18 I hope you're OK healthwise.

Pesepheny, I am so sorry to hear about your awful experience. I agree that you should write a complaint as well. And what a way to have a diagnosis made. Take care of yourself!

Dit that picture you put up just needs Jimi and Jezza would be happy. The interview pictures are good. The 4th picture reminds me of the proud parent looking Jezza looking down on his co hosts.

James looked pretty nervous in the interview - he was blinking ninety to the minute.
However, he did admit to being the group "heartthrob," which I'm sure he meant self-deprecatingly, though if you asked this group, we'd say, "well...YES, you silly man!"

Yes they did. I have read the newspapers about it and they weren't positive. They said that they played it too safe if you see what did that in Moscow. Like that looping. How was the press with you ?

You are welcome! Melly, I havent seen what the press said yet. not really interested. I have my own opinion. You know what i found a shame? that James wasnt wearing the nice porsche tee shirt like he did on the first show. I would have been able to see his arms............
