A while ago, Jeremy mentioned that he was working on a new WWII documentary. Today he tweeted a few more details and revealed that it starts filming today In the man's own words, "New documentary is about one of the arctic convoys, and the horrifying experiences of the British and American men who served on it"Incredibly, Tiff Needell immediately responded by revealing that his father in law actually served in the arctic convoys as a teenager! I am really looking forward to this - I love his military history programmes, and Jeremy always treats the subject matter seriously, and with a huge amount of respect. It's also a subject that doesn't tend to get a lot of coverage when people talk about the war. Should be a fascinating watch.

I was able to watch PQ 17: An Arctic Convoy Disaster on iPlayer, Jeremy writes and makes interesting, entertaining programs. His serious subjects are just as engaging as his humorous endeavors. I want to watch it again there is so much info in it deserves at least a second viewing to absorb all the details. The interviews with the men who actually participated in the events are particularly moving. I hope it shown on American TV (and elsewhere) it deserves a wider international audience, then my Dad can easily watch it, I don't know if I can get him to watch on his computer. For added effect I watched it bundled up in a cold room, it has been below zero F temps with lots of wind and snow here in St.Louis, MO as well as the mid-west and eastern parts of the U.S. It will be aired again Saturday, 18 Jan 2014 02:55 on BBC Two www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03n3297www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03n3297/PQ_17_An_Arctic_Convoy_Disaster/transmission.blogs.topgear.com/2013/12/23/jeremy-and-james-on-tv-this-christmas/The Arctic Star This is the graveyard in Archangel where some of those who died on the Arctic convoys are buried. pic.twitter.com/HTnyEfknf1 27 Feb 13 /photo/1 Here's me. Jezza tweeted that he was thinking about writing in his Sun Column this Saturday why they were told to retreat and scatter. Would anyone be able to post the column if possible. I tried to get in one time and I had to pay I believe.
