Reckon I'll be getting this too, but one thing confuses me - it says on Amazon that the DVD is 115 minutes long, and the review (not sure how there can be one when it hasn't been released yet, but there you go) says it contains some deleted scenes. But as I recall the BBC2/HD version was 2 x 1 hour programmes, which would be 120 minutes. Even allowing for the removal of one set of credits (from the end of the first TV programme) the maths just doesn't seem to add up to me. Or am I just being dyscalculic?

I know what you mean about reviews for items yet to be released, dit. The Broadchurch DVD (which is shown as an item being purchased with Top Gear and Man Lab) isn't being released until a week from Monday, and it already has 20 reviews!! I'm guessing these are people that simply watched it as it was aired. But the time frame on the Africa special doesn't add up at all. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

118 minutes (approx) less the 'previously' and 'coming next' plus credits probably comes down to about 115 running time for the main feature (two hours of TV, even on the BBC, isn't quite the full 120 minutes once you allow for continuity announcements between shows etc.). DVD running times usually quote the main feature, and if the deleted scenes are extras rather than edited back in, that would probably be about right.

Anyone bought this yet? I spotted it in Sainsbury's and noticed the extras didn't include a commentary. Can anyone confirm? I shall take days of deafening silence as a "no"

It's a not Amie8 but buy it if only for the "Idiot on board" deleted scene - blooming hilarious - TG3 ambitious but rubbish at it's very best
