I am one of the people that get the Top Gear survey. I got the new one in my box in Friday. Yesterday I went to look for it and get it sent back and couldn't find it. A few minutes later I did. In the meantime I had emailed Admin and asked if they could send me another one. I filled out the survey and in the remarks box at the end I mentioned age being a factor. My birthday is in 15 days and I feel double it which would put me in the record books! Grey cells on the decline.

Just checking in from the white knuckle ride that is my mother's wi-fi connection. You're online, you're offline, you're on again...
Anyway - there's a swarm of bees in the tree outside. They arrived this evening, making a hell of a din. I'm hoping they'll move off tomorrow. They're pretty benign chaps on the whole, but I'm sleeping with the window shut, just in case.

I have two days left in school before it's over before the summer. Then I've actually have two weeks off before I start to work for the summer. Two weeks where I'm going to do as little as possible! After a spring from hell I feel need it! So I'm going to be home and enjoy my son and just hanging around. Maybe visit my mom for a couple of days.

I've just read on Twitter that there's a firm on ebay selling cut-out cardboard figures of James. There's a mini one two feet high but also a life-size one. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/James-May-Life-Size-Cardboard-Cutout-Real-Stand-Up-Free-UK-delivery-/171056052810?pt=UK_DVD_Film_TV_TV_Memorabilia_LE&hash=item27d3bc3a4aWell, I say life-size, but it's quoted as being 1.82 metres tall, which is apparently 5foot 11 and 21⁄32inches. I did consider buying one, but I'm guessing it/he would be too big to fit through my letter-box! (Actually, I really wasn't serious about buying a James. I don't think I could live with one. Regardless of how I feel about him, I reckon having a life-size James in my house would really spook me out. Worse, I might find myself talking to it/him. Even worse, I might eventually think it/he is talking back.)

I have to agree. A life-size James might not work in my house. I think my OH may not approve. But I think the 2ft high one, would look fantastic next to a lovely potted plant! Come to think of it, maybe not. However, they have sold one of each size already.

Now I'm thinking about a life-sized James doll to put in your car so you can use the car pool lane. And is there anyone you'd rather talk to when you get stuck in traffic? Even a one-way conversation with James would beat listening to Imus-in-the-Morning.

I don't remember the last time I actually turned on the hot water in the shower. Heat, humidity, thunder showers... that has been the norm for too long. I'm certainly not asking for fall to arrive, just maybe a breeze once in a while. Please Mother Nature. Hear my plea! Signed, Melted in the Northeast!

Never ceases to amaze me the extremes you US gals get. One minute you're snowed under, and the next melting. We get the melting bit, but winters are around min 10c to max 23c or so. How come you get both? Altitude? Distance from the coast? Probably showing some basic geography ignorance here!

Unsurprisingly, I'm getting the same weather as DMC. It's been so hot and humid for >2 weeks that it's like a jungle, punctuated by frequent T-storms. During a storm last week, 2 large trees fell on my Xterra in my driveway and smashed it to smithereens.
JM2, I think our changeable weather and storms are due largely to the influence of Arctic cold fronts moving down from Canada and comingling with warmer air blanketing the US. I'm at about 1500 feet which does intensify storms a little too. We go from -40 F in the winter to 100 F in the summer.

Almost every day/evening there's been a thunderstorm with winds and lightening in the past week. I'm still not used to this muggy after only 10% humidity in NM. The Direct TV goes out as soon as the wind blows or a drop of rain hits it. I had comcast and rarely and problems. Right now it is overcast which is good. My cousin puts own corn for the deer and one was chomping down a few minutes ago.

We certainly have weather extremes like Fizzy says. I just wish this particular weather system would stop! I think I'm developing moss!

I guess our weather stays fairly moderate due to lack of altitude and also no other land masses within cooee to influence it. Who knows? You guys must need so many different types of clothes! How do you fit them all in?
