Another solid episode - I got proper shivers when the boys were discussing the Charge of the Light Brigade and showing where it happened, and think Chernobyl may win the prize for the creepiest place Top Gear has ever been. Not perhaps the most light-hearted of episodes, but interesting, and some classic lines in The News (especially Richard declaring that he'd like to be a drunk queen). Also, James Blunt - always worth it for entertainment value, and a properly brave lap too  |

The one remark after the article says it all; jealousy.I'm glad James got to drive his Dacia Sandero without any perks.I sympathize with the drive. When I back east I go through Kansas, Illinois,Indiana and Ohio. I don't use the freeway and many times I've almost fallen asleep. Rolling down windows, loud music, none worked until I got to some hills and curvy roads. I don't care what anyone says going into an area still radioactive takes guts and I liked all the cars. Good news and great puns and innuendos.

I wish this episode was longer, I would have been happy if the whole show had just been them traveling in Ukraine. I wanted to see more of that, they could have left out the burning Danish, Zenvo STI and James Blunt and I wouldn't have minded a bit. I was really surprised James didn't recite any Charge Of The Light Brigade poetry at Balaklava Valley  I'm not surprised how flat and boring Ukraine is in late autumn after the crops have been harvested, it used to be the bread basket (lots of grain grown there much like Kansas) of the former Soviet Union. Chernobyl and Pripyat are very eerie, filming there late in the afternoon in late November added to the barren emptiness of the abandoned town. I wonder if they kept their clothes & shoes after walking through there.
