I loved this episode and can't wait for next week. The trucks, horses, scenery. I can't wait for the bridge to be built. I really liked the movie. My cousin took her horse to the bridge in the 60's.She lived there for 2 years.

My late father in law was in Burma during the war, and I loved the fact that the boys treated that part of the story with the respect it deserved. Not the first time they've given me a bit of a shiver this series (the bit when they were reciting The Charge of the Light Brigade in the Ukraine trip had much the same effect). And the horses! I don't think I've ever seen such a ridiculous spectacle as Jeremy and James on horses that were far too small for them, riding like sacks of potatoes. It was like watching the precise opposite of The Hobbit Bring on part 2!

I agree. They've got their heads around the concept that it is actually quite the thing to be respectful. Top Gear has its moments of being genuine and touching, and that was one of them. The moment James took to visit the memorial in Afghanistan was another of those little interludes where one of the presenters' serious and respectful side showed. I really love it when they do.
And back to frivolity: can we spare a moment to discuss Richard Hammond's SHORTS. Because while he looks like a Village Person, he also looks very, very hot indeed.

What a turncoat that guy is! Has a show that had a character like him and now he belittles him.
