Top Gear's Richard Hammond Visits Brain Injury CharityStaff and patients at The Children's Trust, in Tadworth, geared up for a top afternoon when the charity's vice-president Richard Hammond visited Two-year-old Sophie Stainthorp with Hammond
Top Gear star Richard Hammond dropped into a Tadworth charity to meet youngsters and film a new fundraising appeal. The popular presenter visited The Children's Trust on Monday (February 17) to shoot footage. Hammond, who is vice-president of the charity, met young patients, their families and staff at The Children's Trust, which works to care for and rehabilitate children with acquired brain injuries and complex health needs. 'The Hamster' spoke to people about his own brain injury, which he sustained in 2006 when he crashed a jet-powered car at 288mph during filming for Top Gear. He said he was impressed by how much the trust and its services had developed and congratulated the charity on its 30th anniversary. www.getsurrey.co.uk/news/local-news/top-gears-richard-hammond-visits-6722839*There is photo gallery on the page at the link*
