Happy Vernal Equinox 1st Day of Spring to those of you dwelling in the northern hemisphere and Happy Autumnal Equinox to those in the southern hemisphere "In the Spring a fuller crimson comes upon the robin's breast; In the Spring the wanton lapwing gets himself another crest; In the Spring a livelier iris changes on the burnish'd dove; In the Spring a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of love." - Locksley Hall By Alfred, Lord Tennyson

I can't believe it's five years since the Plasticine garden was created. The two weeks I spent working on that project are without question one of my top memories. An absolute joy, and one that was shared by several JMB-ers, past and present. If I had the chance to do something like this again - with or without the lovely Mr May and the equally lovely Simmy - I would jump at it. I don't think I've ever been happier to go to 'work' (not that I was getting paid or anything) - being able to sit in a studio and just sculpt and play all day was incredibly freeing. Here's a little detail piece we ultimately didn't use because there were enough details without adding numerous birds (one of the other girls also made a life-sized ginger cat that was to have gone in the tree with this one, but on reflection, it really didn't need them so I'm glad they were kept in reserve). I enjoyed sculpting him though, and at last it's nice to show him to people
