Jeremy Clarkson tests the new BMW M3 at the track before switching to another BMW, the space-age, hybrid powered i8, for a revealing trip up the A1 to Whitby. When he gets there, and fuelled by a portion of fish and chips, Clarkson must decide which of the two he would rather take for the drive home.

Also in this programme, Richard Hammond marks the imminent demise of the legendary Land Rover Defender with a heart stopping attempt to drive one straight up the side of a dam.

Meanwhile, James May makes a rare trip to the Top Gear track to test the brand new, 500 horsepower Mercedes-AMG GT.

The stars in the Reasonably Priced Car are actress Margot Robbie and Hollywood superstar Will Smith.

Top Gear Series 22: Episode 4 Trailer


If last Sunday’s episode was all about the ambulances, this Sunday’s effort – the fourth of the new series, no less – is all about, well, the cars.
As you’ll see from this official trailer, Episode 4 features such luminaries as BMW’s i8 super-hybrid, the Merc-AMG GT, the new M3 and, of course, an old Land Rover on the side of a very steep dam.

An all-new episode of Top Gear premieres ***Monday, February 16th at 8:30/7:30c***on BBC America.

Jeremy Clarkson tests the new BMW M4 at the track before switching to another BMW, the space-age, hybrid powered i8, for a revealing trip up to town of Whitby on the Yorkshire coast.

When he gets there, Clarkson must decide which of the two he would rather take for the drive home. Richard Hammond pays tribute to a 4×4 that has been in production for 66 years with a heart-stopping attempt to drive one straight up the side of a dam.

Last week you saw homemade ambulances, Jeremy Clarkson in a sausage-shaped predicament and Richard Hammond's personal dignity violated by an inanimate victim. For this week's show, we've taken a new subject matter: CARS!

Yep, episode four of the new series of TG telly promises to be a good ‘un, with reviews of BMW's new i8 and M3, and the new Mercedes AMG GT supercar in the bill. Oh, there's also a bit with an old Land Rover on the side of a very steep dam.

Not only that, we've also rounded up some STARS! This week, we've corralled together none other than Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street) and The Fresh Prince of Bel Air/Bad Boys/Independence Day star himself, Mr Will Smith! Here's him with Mr Stig.

Will cracks a joke with the TG production team, who are all oblivious to his impending desire to FLASHY-THING them.


Will was decidedly unimpressed that the license plate did not say ‘Fresh' and there was a distinct lack of dice in the mirror.


Margot's delight at the Stig's relationship status would soon subside as she found out he doesn't understand humans.


Margot's impersonation of our Richard Hammond waxwork was a hit.


"Yes, yes, he's the Fresh Prince. I get it. Just tell me how to DESTROY HIM."


Can Margot beat Will on our celebrity lap-time leaderboard? Will our little Astra survive the cosmic power of two Hollywood mega-stars? Can Hammond ever recover from his Hambulance terror of last week?

I loved James barking while driving Mercedes AMG GT. Jeremy's review of the BMW M3 and trip in the BMW i8 to Whitby made me hungry for fish and chips. He was very good and quick with Margot Robbie and Will Smith, who I can't stand most of the time. Richard being winched up the damn was tense even though we knew he wouldn't be killed to death. It's nice seeing genuine emotion and reaction even though it was fear and anger. I wish they would have shown his trip back down the damn.
