Normally, activating the device would summon a vast international rescue crew, but in Hammond's case, the distress signal is sent directly to Jeremy Clarkson and James May who are disorganised, disinterested and very many miles away. Eventually, the pair get their hands on two machines they believe are suitable for the job and set off on an epic adventure to find their colleague. Warning: may contain traces of pickup truck…Posted: 26 Feb 2015  We don't really get pickups in the UK. Ours are small - well, small-ish - frequently powered by rumbly diesel engines, and driven almost exclusively by men who cut down trees for a living. Not so in Canada, which is where the troublesome trio are headed this week for a spot of light rescuing. Hammond is dumped in Middle-of-Nowhere, Canada, with a fancy watch complete with built-in distress beacon. Problem is - while normally triggering such a beacon would summon the world's finest mountain rescue teams, Hammond's triggered a Jeremy and a James. And, naturally, they'd need a couple of fairly heavy-duty bits of kit to reach him... And that's not all we've got lined up for you. Jeremy takes to the track in the shiny new Lexus RC F, and Special Agent Scully herself - the lovely Gillian Anderson - attempts to dethrone Olly Murs at the top of the celebrity lap-board. That means she gets a few tips from 'tame racing driver' The Stig, before attempting to zoom around the track faster than the celebrities who've come before her. Singer Olly Murs topped the board last week – much to his delight – and while Anderson may pretend not to mind about her time, she's doing the 'Top Gear lean'. If you're unfamiliar with the Top Gear lean, it's the point the celebs have a jolly good look at the board to scope out their rivals' times. Lean, lean lean...  Of course this is entirely speculation. Anderson may just be getting comfy. But I bargain she's a competitive lass and wants a good lap time. Look, eye of the tiger:  If there were space, they'd probably be bumping helmets together.  Go Anderson! I enjoyed it. Maybe a minute or two less of James and Jeremy pretending to not be rushing to Richard's aid, but otherwise a good, solid episode. The last ten minutes or so were excellent.

As any viewers of Sunday’s show will appreciate, Jeremy’s favourite new pickup, the Hennessey VelociRaptor, is not subtle.
Instead, it’s loud, it’s yellow, it’s the size of a Nimitz-Class aircraft-carrier, and thanks to some knobbly tyres, it’s more than capable of scaling literally anything put before it. Including Canadian mountains.
Oh, and it’s pretty powerful, too. 623bhp powerful. And a certain tame racing driving racer wouldn’t let it leave the Top Gear studio before grabbing the keys for one hot, and occasionally sideways, lap around the TG track.
We think he was going for fun rather than speed in this one, so we didn’t time it (and note, this is only footage of the lap, so it’s not indicative of the time, one and all).
