Part 1 of this was on BBC2 on Boxing Day, part 2 is on Wednesday 30th December at 8pm on BBC2 Review of part 1 from today's Telegraph: www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/tv-and-radio-reviews/12067994/Top-Gear-from-A-to-Z-BBC-Two-review-In-retrospect-the-shows-comedy-genius-shines-brightly.htmlI particularly like their description of James James May Was TG's Secret Weapon Perpetually hang-dog, with the body language of someone recently stirred from a deep slumber, "Captain Slow" was always the odd petrolhead out. However, his woolly eccentricity was confirmed as the perfect counterpoint to the weapons-grade chirpiness of Hammond and Clarkson's pit-helmeted brusqueness. Even managing to stay calmly befuddled while piloting a "caravan airship" into a field, May was the guy from down the road who'd somehow blundered his way into a multimillion TV franchise.

I doubt the TG3 had anything to do with this! Smacked of the BBC grabbing anything, in the absence of a real TG Christmas Special.
