Well, I'm guessing some of us have opinions?
Please feel free to express them here.

I don't think I will feel a need to watch it again in all honesty, I think the studio audience by the end seemed pretty bored as the enthusiastic clapping from the start had completely gone

As I'm having a wander on here (!) I gave it a chance, I turned off and then turned it back on but it was painful really. Too much shouting, no connection between the two hosts and I was a bit surprised to see exactly the same show. They should have changed it and had a fresh start.

James May @mrjamesmay May 29 I'm really looking forward to watching Top Gear without knowing what happens in the end. #NoSpoilerAlert I haven't watched it yet too many good shows on TV Sunday night, So Called Top Gear followed by Top Gear: Extra Gear www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03w1dcs/top-gear-extra-gear-episode-1 will be starting soon on BBC America. It will have to wait until after The Stanley Cup Final hockey game 1 tonight

I'm standing by and hoping they soon give Sabine Schmitz more airtime. She is my main reason for continuing with TG. I'd love to see her snarky wit really get the space it deserves.
I have never been a Chris Evans fan - his humor always feels contrived and forced. He is not a good interviewer; he breaks in on his guests far too frequently and his questions are usually so inane and basic that the interviewed party can barely be arsed to answer, then Evans makes some banal quip about the person's lack of enthusiasm. Argh.
That said, I do like the Stars In Reasonably Priced Cars head-to-head concept. I think I could watch a whole programme of just that!

I watched with trepidation and agree with lymaze that maybe a new format should have been tried. I turned it off in boredom after the 2 guest laps. There's that part of me that says give it a chance but Chris Evans' voice annoys me and Matt is just dumb. I cannot honestly say I will watch it again with them in it.

Top So Called Gear was OK, it helps if I think about it as a BBC car show and not Top Gear. The films looked great, I liked the stars in the rally cars even though it's a bit weird to have two celebs on promoting two different things. It's TG not a talk/chat show or morning radio. Chris Evans need to stop SHOUTING and calm down during the studio portions it's not like he's new to broadcasting or microphones. Matt LeBlanc was fine I'm used to his laid back delivery after seeing him on talk shows and Episodes. They should have had all the new presenters on the first show to introduce them. The set looks like it is from a game show. In the US it's on a Monday night at 9:00/8:00PM then BBC America shows Top Gear Extra. There isn't a lot of new or must see TV on Mondays so it's something to watch while eating dinner. If it wasn't on I'd watch Houdini and Doyle or Antiques Roadshow. I'll tune in next week to see how it goes

Chris vs Eddie vs Matt - New Top Gear Ep 2 Teaser
Published on Jun 3, 2016
It’s the question that has long puzzled mankind: what’s the best sporting SUV to deliver an A-list musician to the highest pub in Africa?
Chris Evans, Matt LeBlanc and Eddie Jordan will attempt to answer this question in the new episode of all-new TG TV, headed your way this Sunday.
The sporting SUVs in question? Count ‘em: Jaguar’s new F-Pace, the Porsche Macan, and the Mercedes-Benz GLC.

Looks like the re-boot may not be doing so well.
