On the show James reassembled a favourite object each week (a lawnmower, record player, electric guitar, Bakelite telephone and a model train), with each object quietly broken down to its components, then carefully reassembled. It proved soothing - almost hypnotic - television, and in this new book James attempts to show the reader how to assemble from scratch these beloved objects and others.
