Posting photos

I've had an email today from Photobucket saying I'm no longer allowed to post photos on any forum (or similar) without paying them $39.99 per month, billed annually at $399.99 a year(don't know what that is in £ sterling). I've checked on their website and it seems to be true. There's absolutely no way I'm paying them this. So for the foreseeable future I won't be able to put up any photos, which I quite enjoy doing, though nowhere near in the vast numbers I used to!

I've used Photobucket for years so I would appreciate advice from any members as to how else I can get my photos onto this forum without having to pay. As I understand it, I can't just copy them from my own library straight onto the forum, I have to go through a 'third party', so what can you folks recommend?

I'm not concerned about the stuff that's already on Photobucket as it's all saved in my libraries, but I need a way to post new stuff if I think you guys will be interested! Any ideas will be appreciated.

It's true, and I can't afford to pay them either. I think it is a bunch of crap that they are now charging people for a service they provided for YEARS at no cost.

As to how to post picture here, or on the other 2 forums I visit, I have no clue.

Yes, there is no way I'm paying $400 a year for a service that I've used for over a decade that was loaded with ads and other crap

I would recommend Imgur imgur.com/ as a good free hosting site

The only other free hosting site I know of and used is tinypic.com/ but it is owned by Photobucket.

Thanks for the advice, RedMoon11, I'll definitely look into Imgur; they'll probably have a lot of people migrating to them because of Photobucket's foolish move.

Thanks RedMoon11. I've started having a quick look at Imgur, but if it doesn't suit I'll definitely take a look at that ones you've provided. I might even have a go tonight - I have a photo I'd like to post, if I'm able!




Edit: I tried with Imgur but although I can save photos, I can't seem to put them up on here. I'll have to spend more time on this tomorrow.
