Jezza is up for one. "Andrew Marr is also nominated for best non-acting performer/presenter, up against Jeremy Clarkson, Harry Hill, Ross Kemp and Stephen Fry." Not sure about the non-acting bit though - I think Jezza is very good.

Yep I'm for Jezza ;D......(as if no one would guess) Non-acting not sure about that too, he deserves an Oscar with some of the performances ;D

Calling Jezza 'non-acting' is right up there with calling TG 'factual'! (I'm only quoting him re TG.... ;D)

These take place on Friday, at lunchtime, at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. Just around the corner from where I am working. I is going to be hoping to find a certain someone drunk in the gutter by night fall.

Can I be really thick and ask what the BPG awards are? There seems to be so many different awards these days.

Broadcasting Press Guild Awards. I know. There are too many Awards these days, but never enough if TG are involved.

It appears the awards were announced last night and today (Friday) is the formal lunch thingy. Seems like a strange way to do things to me, but there you go. See www.broadcastingpressguild.org/?p=176 for the winner's list. A mixed bag for our boys - Andrew Marr won the ‘best TV performer in a non-acting role’ so no joy for Jezza there, but Top Gear (BBC Two) - described by the BPG as “that rare thing, a long-running programme on the top of its game” - was voted best factual entertainment programme.Of course, I'd rather have Jezza than Andrew Marr any day...

The History of Modern Britain was a great show. I'm reading the book at the moment - well it's at home I would have brought it to Oz but as it was a hardback I decided against it

Actually, yes Glam, I have to agree with you. I didn't see all of it but from what I did see, it was very good.
It was a tough shortlist too - I wouldn't have liked to put money on the outcome!

Well I wandered past the theatre at lunchtime and there were some press photographers around and I could see through the door it was all set up but I saw no one. I went past on my way home again and it was all over. No one of any significance drunk in the gutter.

So Richard went. All on his own? Poor soul. I would have gone if I'd known. ;D
