They could do each race, in their racing overalls. Down on the track, (don't look at the airheads with the signs james) and they could get better interviews. Lewis Hamilton could be their No. 1 interview every weekend.

I'm still undecided about this idea. It's not just that they aren't exactly known for their love of motorsport but also much as Alfie suggests, I fear there may be an overexposure issue. I'd hate for the guys to become victims of their own popularity and for the Beeb to start thinking that just because something has motor vehicles in it they need to shoehorn any or all of the TG3 into it.
Still, if it's handled right it might just work. I'm sorry, there are splinters in my arse from sitting on this fence but I'm not getting off just yet!
PS: There are sometimes tractors on Countryfile... they're vehicles... there's a programme that could do with some livening up, watch out John Craven!

I'm sitting next to Wyvern on that splintery fence ;D. Jeremy has often commented that neither James nor Richard ever watched F1 - although Richard's turn in the F1 Renault might have converted him, who knows? But the enthusiasm's not exactly legendary, put it so.
I agree that if they did it in the right way it could be excellent, but quite what that right way is I couldn't put my finger on at the moment, the whole concept seems kind of bizarre right now. The worry is, it would be so easy to do it in the wrong way and that would be a disaster for the TG3 and that's what we all fear.
James would surely get bored by the end of the 3rd lap. I know I did last weekend.......!!!! Stupefying stuff.

Have to say I'm not sure it's such a good idea. Maybe a few guest appearances but I wouldn't want them to do it every race. Like you have said, it could be the nail in the coffin.
