Just a reminder to all you enthusiastic fan fic writers that your stories may be read by people who are much younger than you imagine. Therefore, please refrain from including any sexually explicit language or situations and bad language. This also applies across all the Board. You should have all have read the "Welcome to the James May Board" rules, together with those in the Disclaimer for the fiction.
We don’t want to stop people having fun or expressing their creative desires, but we do need to abide by the rules of the forum provider, as well as to remember that this is a public forum.
If you wish to write material which contain strong sexual or pornographic imagery, there are other boards, with age restrictions, where this would be acceptable.
It has not been necessary so far to modify or delete any posts. However, any posts breaking the terms and conditions will be dealt with accordingly.

ModeratorsJust to let all members know that we have made Inky and Lew Global Moderators. We have therefore decided to introduce two further moderators and Glam and Cheeselova have been given these roles. There have also been changes to the stars in colour etc so that it is easier to differentiate who is who. Thanks.

AgesJust a reminder to members - please try to remember to select the 'No' option on your profiles when asked whether to show your birthdays. It is obviously entirely up to members whether they do this, but for our younger members it would be wise as unfortunately you never know who is viewing this forum, except for our members. Thanks.

Board Time
Can I just remind all members that you need to modify your profiles to GMT+1hr since BST came in or select DST. Although the Board time when you are not logged in does show the correct time, you do need to re-set your own profile times as well or you will be viewing the Board when logged in on GMT time not BST time.

Fiction Summer Clear Out
I'm considering removing the oldest stories on the fiction site pre-2008 so if anyone is reluctant to let their story go then let me know.
I've also noticed there are a few started but never finished works going back a few months which could also go. If anyone has started a story but then decided to abandon it can you let me know and I'll delete it.

PS: I won't remove anything unless people are happy for me to apart from possibly the pre-2008 works.

Admin have had no option but to delete a members account from the board. The account will NOT be reinstated. Admin have received confirmation that a member has, time and time again, over-stepped the mark between being a fan and being a 'stalker'. This will not be tolerated on this forum. If you have a problem with this, we suggest that you delete your account.

Can members note that the use of foul language on this forum will not be tolerated. Although words are censored (due to the terms and conditions of the forum provider) it is neither acceptable or necessary to use certain words whether censored or not.
Any member doing this will be issued with a warning and should it occur again, their account will be deleted.

We are sorry to have to tell members that we have made the decision to ban Shani from the Board. We gave her many chances, including several warnings, but to no avail. We hope all members will realise that this decision was not made lightly and it isn’t something which we undertake unless as a last resort.
If any members are concerned or upset by this information please feel free to discuss it with a member of staff.

Just to remind members that the clocks have ticked back an hour and you will need to alter your own profiles so that you are no longer observing Daylight Saving. Unless you want to live an hour in the future of course, which is entirely up to you. ;D
