Please look around the site, familiarise yourself with the layout, where topics are and how the Board operates. If you have any questions please feel free to ask a staff member, and an initial introduction is always welcome, either on the Board or by private message.

Please read the separate rules in connection with avatars, warnings/banning procedures and fiction.

Please remember this is a public site and therefore the majority of posts can be viewed by anyone. Even if a subject is members only, anyone can join the forum so please ensure your posts are not gratuitous, defamatory, or contain strong swear words or sexual references.

Although we openly encourage members to discuss many unrelated subjects, please remember this is a forum dedicated to James May and Top Gear as a whole.

Please make sure your comments are constructive and on topic with the thread you are posting in. Please try to avoid one word posts as much as possible and avoid “bumping” threads.

Any member who posts for the sole purpose of increasing their post count will have their account disabled or their post count reduced.

Please do not post links that do not meet the terms and conditions of this forum or the forum provider.

Please do not use the Board to advertise your own products, company or alternative forums/websites without permission from an administrator.

Please do not discuss your age, address or other personal details openly on the forum.

Rudeness, bullying, or aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated by any member and could lead to your account being deleted.

If a member has a problem with another, please contact a member of staff immediately.

Please remember that James May, and any one connected with him, has a right to a private life. Unsolicited approaches, constant harassment, stalking or any infringement on his private space will not be tolerated and will lead to a member being banned.

I would especially bring to your attention that we do not tolerate bullying of any member on this site, whether on the Board or off. If anyone has a problem with another member it should be discussed with a member of staff. Any member found to have bullied or forced another member to leave the Board will find themselves issued with, at the very least, a warning.

With many new members on board, I think it may be time to refresh everyones memory with board T&C's ;D

A reminder to all members that this is a fan site. We recognise that James and his colleagues, friends and family have private lives, and these are not an appropriate subject for gossip or discussion here. The James May Board is a forum for discussion of public lives rather than private ones. Posts that relate only to James' private life, and the private lives of those around him, may be deleted, or threads locked.

Hi Everyone, please bear in mind our board's terms and conditions when you post. Whilst we endeavour to be flexible in our friendly online community, we still need to adhere to Proboards terms and conditions as well as respect Mr May's right to certain privacy. Thanks.

Due to recent events please could all members familiarise themselves with the general guidelines not only of this Board but also of Proboards.

Please do not use swear words in your posts. It is against Proboards policy and could mean the closing of the Board. If any member uses such language in future they will be issued with one warning and then receive a ban.

Whilst we can't, quite rightly, control what social networking sites members use and what takes place on them, if a member is identified as bringing this Board into disrepute or using it to offend or bully other members, or indeed offend James May, then we will have no alternative other than to remove their account.
