Fantastic blog, I really enjoy having an 'insiders look' into the making of the show and the continuation of the series. I have to say, upon reading this, I am concerned for the longevity of TG as we know it. Andy says (rightly so) how surprised he is that TG made it this far. And it is phenomenal, really, how it has grown with popularity over the years. To go from a handful of bored looking people in the audience to an 18 year wait time for tickets is outstanding. I don't care if the format is not going to get tweaked dramatically to make the show different - why does it need to be different? It has obviously worked, just how it is. I know that after all this time, ideas for challenges may be running short but hey, they still haven't made it to AUSTRALIA. Epic challenge across the outback in old Holdens (Vauxhauls) anyone? A new character sounds...interesting...but unsure if it's actually required. I am wondering if it will be a bit like TGDog, fading away quietly. I am concerned with how much screen time it will take away from the TG3. And then eventually this new character may bump someone off entirely, give someone a chance to throw in the towel. Let's just say that I cannot wait to see it next month

I have to say I know what you mean, Aaurora, I have that fear too. But on the other hand, Andy's not the type to talk a load of old cobblers usually, so fingers crossed things will keep going for a while yet *does happy dance of 'my god, one of my comments got onto the TG site'*

At least, if this were the last series, they would have mentioned it I think. We may have this and then another one.....and then....*shrugs sadly*

Earlier this year, the contract for the production side was awarded for one year and two series. It doesn't mean it won't be renewed in the future but I have no idea how long the BBC normally awards these things for.
