I'm a bit confused actually. I think this is Hamster Back on the Wheel or whatever it was originally called. But this is the hardback edition - out 18th September. I wonder what it'll be called by then.

I've had this book on pre-order through Amazon.uk since April, along with The Big Book Of Top Gear.

Can't wait to *try* to get it. Getting UK books in the US can be such a pain. Either you pay ridiculous amounts to import on AmazonUK or you have to wait a month like I did for May on Motors and Notes from the Hard Shoulder. Yuck.

Ah yes, the joys of book importation, lol. I was 6 weeks getting Notes From the Hard Shoulder and now it has been confiscated by my son.

Adco-- It's why I order from Amazon.uk. I get it within 8 business days as opposed to weeks. For me, that makes the postage worth it. ;D And the kids know to keep their hands off my James and Richard books until I've read them. I had barely finished "On The Edge" when Simone confiscated it. She's fast, the runt! Wes likes the Car Confidential one.

The English teacher asked them to bring a book with them to read during free time. So guess what he took? I have an image of him sitting there giggling to himself and whispering parts to his friends like he did me when he read May on Motors.

Simone's fave column from Notes was I'm Gay But Not That Gay. She still giggles over that one! Wes likes to watch the 20th Century DVD with me. I ordered that from Amazon.uk too. We have a multi regional DVD player. I have all the Top Gear/ Richard/James dvds now.

Oh dear mg. What's the problem? I must be one of the lucky ones with Amazon. Never had a problem in over 4 years. I have loads of reading to catch up on and have been very strict in putting the books in order of receipt date. Until As You Do arrived. It's jumped the queue and it's very good so far

I read the serialisation in The Times. He writes in a distinct way. I ordered it weeks ago I imagine it's because I did the free postage thing. I also ordered the TG annual and Calendar. The calendar has some very nice pictures in it

Let all of us outside of the UK know if it's worth shelling out for! It's Richard, of course it'll be worth the money. ;D To be honest. I'm reluctant to admit that I feel James is a better coulmnist than Richard. However, Richar'd intelligence and wit really shines in his books. I just tend to find his colums a little on the boring side. Sorry, Richard!!!

My copy arrived this morning! After preordering the book and waiting and waiting. I do like an amazon parcel. I do like the boxes, when they dispatch proper boxes. Two years ago I ordered all the books and DVDs for christmas, the best part was the box it arrived in.
I have to agree James is the better writer for his columns and his occasional books. Richard does do a good book, he writes how he speaks.

Hmmm... I'm about halfway through. It's... OK. To be honest, I feel a bit like I'm reading a REAAAALLLYYY long 'What I Did In My Holidays' essay. That said, it's not the sort of thing I normally read, and it is amusing in places, and he's nice about James, so I shall plough on for a bit. I have Andrew Marr's History of Modern Britain next on the pile to make up for the tabloidyness of this one...
*is book snob*

What does he say about James? You said he was n.i.c.e.
