I'd like to know why all the papers are picking on him. Bad publicity for the next series of TG much. Crikey, leave the poor guy alone. And Ly is right, if the papers are going to slander someone, at least do it using the proper grammer! Bloody idiots!

You're taking it that it's true DD. This is The Mirror, a paper which appears to have a personal vendetta against him. I'm not supporting swearing at children, although to be perfectly frank I think the way some of them behave these days they deserve it but, if the photo was taken where is it? Secondly, he went and found the boy the next day - so he didn't bother to go after him there and then and instead sought him out at another hotel complex? Why was this? Because he was asleep at the time. So this means someone has said that boy there took your photo on a beach to him. All rather unlikely really.
Personally, if I was in his shoes I would not want a photo taken of me. I wouldn't as a nobody. I was brought up to ask permission from anyone well known or not for anything like that and if my child had taken the photo, I would have asked them if they had asked permission first.

If it is true then it possibly wasn't fair of him to react as he did. If it isn't (which as Ly said is more than likely) then he should sue the paper.

It doesn't quite hang together properly, does it? If he was asleep when the photograph was allegedly taken, somebody else would have had to have witnessed it to be able to point the kid out later - and if they were going to do that, you would have thought they might have said something at the time. And funny that the story goes to The Mirror again, isn't it?
And if there is a grain of truth in it, well, although it might not be an entirely appropriate reaction, I'm sorry but human beings are not sightseeing attractions. It's incredibly rude to randomly photograph someone, especially if you're only doing it because of who they are. And most celebrities are happy enough to be photographed if approached properly and at an appropriate time. I certainly wouldn't want anyone shoving a camera up my nose while I was asleep. Let's face it, after the farce of the last "unauthorised" photo of Mr C that the Mirror got their mucky hands on, he's likely to be a bit sensitive at the moment.
And the other thing I question is the motivation of the people doing it. Consider where they're spending their holidays. They aren't exactly likely to be looking to make a fast buck from selling their story. I'm not saying it isn't possible that the story is truthful (in much the same way as I'm not saying there aren't tarts with hearts and dogs that don't do inappropriate things to important visitors legs at delicate moments) but I suspect a put-up job. They couldn't get him one way, so The Mirror will do whatever they can to attack his character.

Absolutely agre with Wy. wonder if that 'child' was in fact related to somebody at the Mirror (Uncle...) and 'passed' the photo on. The circumstances are just ludicrous; for his own sake he wouldnt have done that to the kid without just cause, hed have spoken to the dad about it. He knows theres too much at stake

You're welcome, I just knew you'd like it Eclair! I've also commented, though as I tend to ramble a bit the mods will probably roll their eyes and hit the delete key... ah well, nice one Andy, glad someone's out there looking out for our Jezza. I know he's a big guy and can look after himself, but this is nice It definitely deserves a mention on the Andy board

I think Jezza must be a very strong person to have deal with all of this all the time. Poor thing.

It's become ridiculous recently, and it's mostly down to the Mirror and their stupid witch-hunt. They've got something personal against the guy, obviously, but as the old cliché goes, it's not big and it's not clever. Next time they pull something like this I'm going to reinstate my plan to make them behave (grabs denims and a jacket, a packet of Marlboros and Doobie Brothers CD in readiness for a protracted period of camping outside Mirror Group Newspapers...).

I did have a little fantasy the other day of buying all the Sunday Mirrors I could find, taking them to their building, pouring petrol on them and burning them as a protest..... But unfortunately they wouldn't give me day release on that particular day. ;D

You know Ly, that's not that far removed from a fantasy I have. It's similar but just involves the building and the petrol...
You know, sometimes I can't quite figure out how I manage to type so well with my arms strapped to my sides and my hands behind my back...
