I like him either way, but I've always loved long hair on guys best, so I'm swaying more towards long. Although, if he did cut it, I think it would look great layered and feathered all over, but down to his collar in the back. Did you see how good he looked in the space episode of 20th Century when he pulled his hair back while he was laying down and talking about the possibility of us being the only living beings in the universe? A ponytail would look nice too, methinks. Just a thought.

Ooh, lovely photos! I like it long, but I particularly liked it when it was first growing out, the long, shaggy layers And I love it on The F-Word. But it's James... the hair is gorgeous, but secondary.

PLease no not a dork knob (aka ponytail) that is just no. Hair and eyes secondary James firstly. *Walks firmly away from thread before getting too involved*

Ok well firstly, James wont go ponytail route. we already know what he thinks of them types!!! Secondly, I always prefered his hair either as it was when he first joined top Gear (ie quite short) or medium (ending just before his jaw) because I think it added to his facial features. As it is at the moment, it doesnt have any shape or dare i say style to it and therefore it doesnt erm add to him so to speak, its its own thing (I'm not sure this makes sense) It is so inbetweeny at the moment that it sort of drowns him a little bit...

I didn't like the style he had when he first joined Top Gear, it looked a bit weird, and when Series 9 (???Hammond's Return series) started it was a mess, no style, no layers, just a curtain, but otherwise anything will do!

Voulez Vou couchet avec moi Mr May. EDIT.... The only bit of French I know That phrase could prove more useful than the French I learned in school like: "Where is Pierre's pencil?"

Okay, I had a think about the ponytail. I really can't picture him with one either. I just can't get it straight in my mind. Good one, Maygrail. LOL I've never heard of one referred to as a dork knob. That had me laughing for quite some time. Nah -- I like James just the way he is now -- all natural and perfect just the way he is. It's his mind and personality that really make me like him the most. The looks are just the icing on the cake and the cherry on the pie.

I love his hair - I don't care what it looks like, but as he's had a bit of a trim, he just looks amazing. It doesn't look as grey as it did in 11x01 either? Perhaps he's put a colour through it?

Completely agree with this. The trim has given it a bit of shape which adds to his facial features. As for the colour; please God tell me it's only studio lighting...
