First puppy went to her new home today. I knew the lovely people who were having her were quite 'well off' and sure enough, they turned up in one of these to take her home I managed to avoid dribbling over the bonnet and during a quick chat about cars, the guy told me he has three Bentleys - two oldies (one from 1935), a Lexus and a Landrover Defender (all very new). They have a place in Warwickshire (5 acres) and a holiday home in St Mawes in Cornwall complete with boat which they spend a lot of time on. I think Daisy may have fallen on her little paws ;D

I took my beloved Purdey to her first event today. It's called Tram Sunday and takes place in Fleetwood, though sadly the only tram arrived on a low loader! However, it's now mainly a transport festival, and there were quite a few tasty cars there, despite the continual rain. I'll post some pics tomorrow when I've had time to resize them, but in the meantine here's one of Purdey, parked up for public scrutiny. She received plenty of admiring glances, I had quite a few chats with enthusiasts, and masses of people took photos. (Edit: bearing in mind her registration, I think she's probably a Pretty AWesome vehicle!)

Purdey is looking beautiful! If only Gerald looked half as good - unfortunately he has some pretty major bodywork issues I need to sort out before I get him back on the road. All the joys, eh? But Purdey's a stunner!

Thank you! I've got a couple of pics of a red and white Herald that I was going to post tomorrow, but I'll put them up now. If it's any consolation, they didn't win anything either! I think it's a lovely car. (I had a convertible many years ago, and a Vitesse.)

This is my car, Nat - what do you think? Poor Gerald doesn't look quite this pretty at the moment - he's had a problem with a rusty panel and I need to carry out some fairly major surgery on his bodywork. Still, he looks better than the one James turned into a boat!

Wy, I think that's the first time I've seen a photo of Gerald. I think he looks lovely, and I can see why you're so fond of him. There's something special about these oldies, isn't there?

When I got home from work the day that photo was taken, I was so stunned by the sight of Gerald gleaming in front of the house (where my car normally sits) that the gate post jumped out on me & put a dent in my back door!

Dazzled by Gerald's brilliance I presume. I have a soft spot for cars like Gerald and Sylvia ( a car of the same make I used to own ,)- if an Alfa has soul, then so do these cars.

Now, that's how a Bentley Continental GT is meant to look! I saw a Conti this morning, while I was on the bus on my way to work. However, it didn't look like the above example. Far from it. The one I saw was pink. Yes, you read that right: pink. Even worse, it wasn't the sort of delicate candy pink hue favoured by the likes of Katie Price. No, this one was a very bright, dayglow, shocking pink, the like of which was, quite frankly, a bit too much to cope with at 5.00am! Surely there must be some sort of law to deal with such crimes against automotive aesthetics!

Anyone that requests such a beautiful machine in such a bloody awful colour should be taken outside and shot at dawn Shame on the salesman that took the order ;D ;D I was totally gone when I had a good look at it as it was parked outside my 'umble abode. I bet the neighbours thought I was related to the Euromillions winners ;D ;D I actually prefer the convertable but I'm sure I could cope if someone bought me this version

I'm guessing it's this Bentley yfrog.com/jx1tvzThe voice is George Michael (yes, that George Michael), George commented on twitter, I sounded like (Jeremy Clarkson) with someone's finger up his arse!! Good grief Mr.Clarkson, I wasn't implying your towering heterosexuality was in question. I had no desire to insult you!No-one seems to know who the car belongs to, though!

Yes, that's what it looked like. I don't know if it was that actual car, though. I was too busy being blinded by the colour to take in the fine details. Believe me, the brief glimpse I got from the top deck of the bus was more than enough, especially at that time in the morning!

I loved the cars of my mum's ex. Also, we used to go to car uhmmm... exhibitions. I totally loved the cars displayed below: Look at this one, my mum's ex didn't fit in it, and he wasn't that tall; only 1.78 meters. I totally loved that car:

My OH and I saw a dark blue Nissan Skyline GT-R on the way home from the pub this evening. The exhaust pipe looked to be about five inches in diameter, and we could still hear the engine even after the car had disappeared from view! ;D

Another great car sighting by my OH and me today: a bright red Ferrari Dino 246. Either late 1960s or early 1970s. Gorgeous! ;D

I took Purdey the GT6 into her usual garage this afternoon for a quick check-over before her first rally the weekend after next, and they're always kind enough to give me a lift home. Usually it's the works van. Today it was this: Bentley Arnage R. The latest project for the young guy who did up the E-type I mentioned previously, that went to auction in London. The Bentley's a very nice car; I enjoyed being dropped off outside the house - that'll give the neighbours something to gossip about!
