I was thinking how pleasant it was to be in the passenger seat while an attractive man drove me in his own Bentley! It was a beautiful car, all polished wood and cream leather. Yum!

I saw the 2nd most ugly car in the world yesterday (The Volvo C30 is still disgracefully awful from the back).
And it was a very expensive car too!
A Bentley Continental GT - in matt black, German plates! Nasty looking lump of metal - but I have put that squarely down to the paint job (that would probably have cost several extra thousands of pounds/Euro's!)

I rather like the back of the C30. It stands out in a crowd.
What looks a bit like an Austin Healey that isn't an Austin Healey? Little red sports car behind me this morning, driven by a chap in a tweed flat cap - the bounder.
Car had a grille like a wee angry face, and wasn't quite as bug-eyed as the Healey. Because it was behind me and I was negotiating a junction at the time, I couldn't interpret the badge on the front of the car

MG Midget?

MG Midget? No, not an MG. I'd have recognised that straight away (used to own one). I was contemplating TVR, but having checked out their club website, nothing from that era has quite enough chrome. I shall keep browsing, for now.

You had an MG? I had an Austin Healey. Mine was British Racing Green.

Unfortunately, I only had a 1972 Leyland B GT in white, which made it the perfect canvas for some teenagers with a spray can and the ability to spell four-letter words. Amusingly, they also signed their work. On another occasion, the steering wheel came away in my hands when I was maneouvering in a car park, so i came to the conclusion it was not a lucky car for me. I was about to sell it, but it got run over by a large farm vehicle down a single track lane. I still have the handbook as a cautionary tale.
It was my one and only foray into sports(?) car ownership. I decided in the end that I needed my legs to be three or four inches longer to drive them successfully. Could never reach the clutch properly, so gear changes were a bit traumatic.
For my sighting, I'm liking the Triumph TR 3. Right size, right grille, right sort of car to be driven by a rakish looking cove in a flat cap

I've just Google-imaged that - very nice! I've experience of the 4A, but don't think I've ever met a 3.

I was at a light with this Dodge Viper. Don't ask me model number and year. I'm girlie and don't know these things. If it helps, it says ACR with a little racing flag on the side. Not that unusual of a car around here but this one had a ridiculous spoiler on the back.

I've just re-read this, amie8, and forgive me, I laughed like a drain. Yes, you are right in thinking it was not a lucky car - 'disaster' is probably more accurate!

The old Peugoet garage, just up the road from where I live, closed down over a year ago. There has been much speculation about what would go into the building, at one point there was an application for a gym. For the last week there has been brown paper covering the windows - it came down today, revealing a Bantley, Rolls Royce, top of the range Range Rovers, Mercs etc - but in pride of place was a beautiful steel grey Aston Martin Vantage with a price tag of 40,000. I do prefer the DB9, but it looked so beautiful and 'come and get me' - if only.......

Not so much a car sighting as a car hearing. Imagine an old VW camper van. Imagine the engine noise of an old VW camper van. Imagine the engine noise of an old VW camper van with a hole in its exhaust. Imagine the engine noise of an old VW camper van with a hole in its exhaust being parallel parked by somebody who can't parallel park. Imagine all of that right outside your house. Add to that somebody shouting "hard left....no hard LEFT...you're alright..no...STOP!...Try again...".
For about twenty minutes.
And with that, I'll bid you goodnight.

I said I'd post some photos I took at Woodvale Rally last weekend, where Purdey strutted her stuff (and came firmly unplaced!). I'll try not to overdo it and not be a bore, though there were some lovely vehicles. First, Purdey in line: Then some Top Gear-y cars Jensen Interceptor Ferrari f430 Spider - or is it? Actually, it's a kit car based around an MR2 Spider. Cost (factory built)? Around £16,000. An XJS for XJSarah. The 2 Porsches James reviewed in Series 15 Episode 2 - which ironically was the episode on BBC2 when I got home! More to follow...

For sale With its proper trappings - a Winnebago-type vehicle, full set of wooden garden furniture, flowers on the table.... Isn't that a Marcos in the foreground? Now, I thought there was something not quite right about that one, but couldn't put a name to it! Nothing against the Marcos, ya know, but seen right next to an E Type, it looks a bit - bulbous, I suppose. An E Type on steroids ;D

Isn't that a Marcos in the foreground? I think the guy with the Marcos deliberately put himself next to the E-type (there was an element of choice) but there were far more looking at the E-type than the Marcos!
