My only criticism is that the German challenge ended a bit messily?? It just sorta 'stopped'??

I loved the German challenge. How many references to the Great Escape and other War films can you spot? ;D I really liked the different ways in with Jezza and James react to Richard being a bad winner. Jezza pisses himself laughing, while James is utterly and utterly embarrassed.

I noticed the diffeent reactions too. Mainly I was laughing at my son who looked very embarassed also as he's been a "bad winner" in the past.

Has anyone watched the spitfire extras. You see James running in his flying suit. Spectacular planes.

I love what James says at the beginning of the Spitfire one. I'm not much given to going gooey, but that was lovely

I've had to open a couple of them in RealPlayer. The MediaPlayer versions are a bit moody. But James in the Spitfire... *sigh*... such a lovely moment

I'm not meant to see it, obviously. There was no picture when I tried Realplayer but at least I could hear it! That is a step up from nothing at all on Media Player.

You may need to download Divx to get it to work. If you google it and then use the Divx then that should work

Would be so much easier not to do anything naughty if the Windows Media link worked...
But anyway, now I've finished not doing anything naughty, I'll upload some .avi files I've created to my webspace when I get home from work...

I'm just watching the repeat of the last ep on BBC2 now, and Hammond is describing the course that they're driving the Minis through. He says that they then "Escape through a tunnel we shall call Dick..." Can I ask what that means? I'm guessing it's an old war film reference maybe, but I really don't get it!

He says that they then "Escape through a tunnel we shall call d*ck..." Can I ask what that means? I'm guessing it's an old war film reference maybe, but I really don't get it! If I remember correctly, in the film 'The Great Escape', there were 3 escape tunnels - Tom, DICK and Harry

Thanks for that Inky, it makes sense to me now! I've been meaning to watch that film for a while now, but never got round to it... No doubt it'll be on at Christmas again, I'll catch it then. Back to Top Gear, it was a great ep, and I was very happy to see Cowell toppled from the top of the lap times board!

Glad to be of assistance. Now, if only they could have arranged for Steve McQueen to race across the racetrack on his stolen German motorbike............ (Cooler - 8 veeks )

As promised, and for the benefit of those struggling with the BBC links, here are links to non-streaming versions of TG vs The Germans, with James's little Spitfire moment, the fox hunt and James and Jeremy's old cars. But you didn't see me, and I was never here The quality is as good as I could make it, so the files are quite big...

Another outtake. Or rather, 13 minutes of Jeremy and Jay Kay being incredibly nerdy. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! www.topgear.com/content/videos/videos/164/broadband.htmlBTW, if anyone runs into trouble with the BBC links, PM and I'll see if I can sort it out, though the resulting file will be absolutely enormous!
