Intriguer - Crowded House. What do you think of it Fallatyourfeet? It's hard for me to be objective because I love them so much! I always approach their albums with some trepidation; what if this one's a stinker.I needn't have worried. I've been living with Intriguer for almost a week and the songs are worming their way into my subconscious. I like 'Falling Dove' very much especially the rocky bit in the middle and 'Even If'. What do you think? Did you get the deluxe edition with the bonus DVD?

Good to see you back Glam Have you got the new Divine Comedy album yet and if yes, is it any good? I've got Regeneration on in the car AGAIN and I love it to pieces. Why have they never hit the big time? (better to keep them a secret I guess )

I bought one of those cheap compilation CDs a bit since and never got round to playing it, but put it on in the car tonight when I had to go out. The first track was the original "Jessica" by the Allman Brothers - I'd forgotten how lovely and sunny that track is (though it doesn't half go on a bit!) Coming back it was "I Surrender" by Rainbow and "Cocaine" by J.J Cale. I enjoyed channeling my inner rock chick for a while!

I'm showing my age now but I bought Jessica as a 45rpm single when it was released

Hiya Inky Yep, I've got the new album. Still settling into it. Some lovely stuff on it. Rather piano and strings based. Not sure what my long time favs are but there's one called Down in the Street Below that has some moments that literally make me swoon. Quite an unbeat album. As for Neil's fame I think his popstar moment has passed but he seems happy enough writing albums about cricket and musicals based on Swallows and Amazons

I will give the new album a listen for sure. I only got into The Divine Comedy as a result of you and don't know what I was thinking of way back when I missed them I'll have a listen to Down In The Street Below

Sorry to butt in but I had the same problems until they released Spotify Open - that gives you free access (20 hours a month) without the need for a code. This is part of the e-mail they sent me after I'd been waiting for an invitation code for an eternity. Quote:Awhile back you submitted your email to our waiting list to get an invite to register for Spotify. We know that the wait has been long but we’re happy to let you know that, with the launch of Spotify Open, you no longer need an invite to join Spotify. Spotify Open offers new Spotify users the chance to try out the service, giving access to over eight million tracks and albums for 20 hours every month - that's equivalent to listening to 25 albums or 300 tracks EVERY month! Go here to to sign up and get started right away with Spotify: www.spotify.com/get-spotify/go/open/UnquoteGood luck inky, hope it works for you.

I find the album's been creeping up on me - and no I didn't get the deluxe version - I didn't know such a thing existed (wasn't for sale at my local HMV). I like it more and more and there's only one track I'm not so keen on. As I've been away and v busy I haven't listened to it as much as I'd like but will do so now. I went to Glasto - twas boiling but brilliant. For a music lover it was utterly fantastic and such a happy place to be.

Who did you see at Glasto crumbs? Were you a Glasto virgin or had you been before? I was a virgin! I saw Corinne Bailey Rae, the Bombay Bicycle Club, Ellie Goulding, Newton Faulkner, Gorillaz (the only disappointment), Keane, Imogen Heap, Jackson Browne, Slash, Muse, Scissor Sisters, Faithless, Stevie the Wonderful and a few unheard of but brilliant dance, jazz and world music combos. I danced and sang and had a proper good time. I really needed it - the past year has been pretty stressful, so it was a real tonic. And yes, I would do it again although with some trepidation as we enjoyed this year so much and there was no rain!

I saw the Corinne Bailey Rae section on television while flicking through channels. I stopped flicking and listened well, I thought she was really good.

I caught a bit of Steve Wonder on telly. What a pro. It was reported to be the first all dry Glasto since 2002. ;D I've never been.I think I would be overwhelmed by the sheer size of it.

Alicia Keys' new(ish) album is getting me through the day. Listened to it consistently since it came out more than 6 months ago and it just keeps getting better. She can sing and play like no-one else these days.
God I sound like my parents!

I've had an album of classical piano music on high rotation since discovering this board. (I like to imagine James playing some of it!)
Also on the piano theme, I'm currently listening to George Winston's album "Linus and Lucy: the music of Vince Guaraldi" (some of which will be very familiar to anyone who has ever seen the Peanuts movies on TV.)

Wen, that will be quite some concert. (Rod Laver, or the MCG?)
I'm on an eighties kick, rediscovering the brilliance of Nik Kershaw. Loved him when I was 12, and 25 years later, the music's holding up incredibly well. (Who said the eighties were the decade of soulless music?)

Wen, that will be quite some concert. (Rod Laver, or the MCG?) Rod Laver. I am glad it's not the MCG or Docklands stadium. MCG don't do concerts anymore anyway, I think. Last time was Madonna + Michael Jackson + U2 when they were all here in the same year about 13 years ago. Went to see George Michael earlier this year at Docklands and the stadium is way too big. Saw Whitney Houston at Rod Laver arena which is just the perfect size. And contrary to reports, she was awesome!!
