Okay. I admit it. I am listening to Willow Smith "I Whip My Hair Back And Forth". *feels the shame* No need to feel the shame...we all listen to questionable material every now and then. Some say I listen to nothing else ;D Now listening my all time favourite band Hanoi Rocks and their absolutely brilliant version of Moon Martin's song "Bad News" (Moon is cool too). All live videos of this were crap and kept cutting off, so this is just audio (in case anyone dares to check it out) www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-sA4ucyNS8

Just got my Elbow cds in the post! I've listened to The Seldom Seen Kid. Marvelous! ;D ;D So very impressed! And that is saying something. I hardly ever listen to the radio (for music that is), don't know any new bands/singers for the past...oh... fifteen years! These guys are terrific! Can't wait to delve into Leaders of the Free World! ;D

Yet another great one lost to breast cancer. The godmother of Punk rock, Poly Styrene passed away yesterday So, listening to X Ray Spex: "Oh Bondage Up Yours" from 1977 www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sl-7RSiRXE&feature=relatedAlways loved the way she introduced the song: "Some people think little girls should be seen and not heard - well I think, oh bondage, up yours!" ;D

I've just started having an love affair with Snoop Dog and Kanye West about 10years to late to be fashionable and 15 years to early to be a mid life crisis. Also big time into Trance Opera.

Highland Cathedral, played by the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards, in Dunblane Cathedral. My parents' house is about five minutes' walk from there. Music like this makes me very proud of my Scottish connections. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRacaXCm0UE

I'm OK, thanks. The job is still going fine, although it can be quite tiring lugging a heavy trolley up and down a train for a few hours! Day off today, though, and a bit of music is always welcome.

I love 'Highland cathederal'. The first time I heard it was at a Scottish Fiddle Orchestra concert conducted by John Mason, now sadly deceased. It is a very stirring composition and instantly lifts your spirits. Another favourite piece by the SFO is ' The Death of Queen Jane,' which is very poignant. Glad to hear the jobs going well XJS.

I'm listening to the sounds from my youth again (does this impy I'm getting old??) as in Rene Berg/Soho Vultures (originally West End Central) "London Town". www.youtube.com/watch?v=mtFItWkTOdYAnother lost soul in musical world. It's sad that during 80's drugs was still the core of the "rock'n'roll way of life" and that cost us far too many great musicians. Today, it seems that rockers are the healthiest people around with strict diets and excercise regimen. Wish they'd seen the light a tad earlier. Mind you, one part of Soho Vultures did: Nasty Suicide, the original guitarist in Hanoi Rocks (boy, was I in love with him ;D) got tired of never knowing what people were talking about, quit drugs, came back to Finland, finished school and continued to university. Now he's a pharmacist and preparing a doctorate. It's never too late to change your life.

I'm listening to Ginger Wildheart's acoustic live album "Potatoes and You" Brilliant and fun, as Mr G always is. Needed something to pick me up after cleaning the flat in sauna temperature Well, now it's clean here (for few minutes/hours).

I posted that on the 'Songs that remind you of James' thread a while back, for much the same reasons. By coincidence, I listened to that CD for the first time in ages when I was driving yesterday. I do tend to go a bit blurry when I hear that track.

Aha! Great minds etc etc!
Tropical Brainstorm is a fabulous album: the essence of the great Kirsty. Her early death was very sad. I bought Caro Emerald and really like it - in fact all the family does.

One of my favourite songs: End Of The Line, by the Traveling Wilburys. I always feel good after listening to this song. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwqhdRs4jyADedicated to all those JMB members who are having a tough time at the moment, for whatever reason. Hang in there, folks. *hugs*
