www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24459608-5006022,00.html Oh dear. Big drop in viewing figures. So did any of our aussies see the second episode? I had a feeling it might drop a bit. It takes time. Don't give up. I think TG used to get very low figures too.

I haven't seen it yet, but then, I'm not an Aussie - and the sodding torrent is taking forever. However, the posts on Final Gear seem to have been a lot less vitriolic this week. Fingers crossed. It's bound to take time

;D I do my best... I had kangaroo for lunch the other day... I watched a Bledisloe Cup game in a pub full of backpackers... I have smelly bath things called "Uluru"... Anyway... Bloody thing finally downloaded, woohoo! I enjoyed episode one, but I have to say this one was a lot better. They seem to have got a bit more hang of filming their track this time. Not as over-packed as last week and there's a bit more actual content in the articles. I think I can see the beginnings of the show stamping its own identity on the brand, if they get the opportunity to keep it up (which I hope they do). The guys seemed a lot more comfortable with both the show and each other, which was nice Smart hearse... *snort* ;D PS: Why can't Ford sell the Falcon Ute over here? That's a great looking truck!

I missed it, sadly. Had a family "do". It was a public holiday here in NSW on Monday and school hols as well, so that may account for the drop in ratings. I fully intend to watch next week. ;D

I have seen the second episode and I still like it. Love the Challenge at the Super Pit. I laugh so hard with about the thing they did with the smart car.
The only problem I have is that they do not roadtest so many cars. It seems that they do more challenges and other funny stuff

Second episode was better. I quite like what they are doing and it's about time we have more aussie programs, of which we are sadly lacking. Loved the smart hearse ;D I am hoping they (the presenters) make an appearance at TG Live or is that too much to ask?

Yes, enjoyed tonights show again. Love Julia, she's always great to watch. I think they are showing Peking to Paris again on abc1 for all those Warren fans, including me

I never saw Peking to Paris. I must watch. I like Warren too ;D He's definitely got to be the most popular. He's just a nice, likeable bloke ;D

Well that was bloody excellent . Although I missed the first part I must apologise in that I don't know how to transfer my DVD/HDD copy of TG onto my PC to make screencaps I must look into that. I suspect I need a USB stick with a lot of gig If someone could please give me some advice, I'd appreciate it Anyhoo a quick run-down. Well its getting better with every episode, and the presenters are getting more comfortable, but still my favourite is Warren, but Steve was less dorky this episode so he's gone up a notch They did a challenge of GPS versus an Aboriginal Tracker in the Kimberleys (Western Australia)...a test drive of the new Holden at the top secret Holden test track (Steve was very funny in the Lotus position)...and to finish up...Lawn Bowls with cars ;D. Oh all those poor Astras getting thrashed! A few "drongos", "wacko" and "cop that!" to boot from Stevo, Wazza and Charles ;D Definitely worth a download ;D PS. Just remembered, SIARPC is crap here too. Sorry but Jack Thompson If only they could snare the likes of Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Simon Baker, etc. Hehe.

Yeah, I've been enjoying the show more, yes, they seem a bit more comfortable now. Just thinking back to James's first times on the telly felt a bit uncomfortable too. In time it will all come together, although this country has been scrapping shows too often lately. They only showed a few of the Boosh then it disappeared

This week's was really good! I think they're getting the hang of it properly now - they seem to be settling into being who they are instead of trying to be Australian versions of the UK guys. I laughed out loud several times this week. They mentioned my beloved Lightning GT And they made a very good point about the lovely, clean electricity coming from coal-powered electricity generating stations. LOVED the cartoon. And Charlie's response to the road rage thing was brilliant - you couldn't get away with that on the BBC! Some lovely filming on the challenge and the lawn bowls was inspired. Warren's mind is a scary place. So yep, agreeing with Eclair 100% - definitely worth a download, and I should know, as it's the only way I can get to watch it - and there was a smaller rip this week, which meant I got to see it the day it came out, hooray ;D

Top Gear Australia wins second series SBS has hit the “GO” light on pre-production for a second season of Top Gear Australia, despite some viewer criticism of the local hosts. The broadcaster says a second series will go to air “as early as possible” in 2009. The series has rated in the high 600,000s for its second and third weeks, dropping from its premiere of 933,000. By SBS standards, it’s still a solid audience, though about a third behind the UK original. Meanwhile SBS has been swift to boast that Jeremy Clarkson has given the series a thumbs up. “Massive congratulations from the Top Gear boys in England on your Australian version. We’re loving it, even though your funny accents make you hard to understand,” said Clarkson. Clarkson is said to have commented on the chemistry between the three hosts, the set and camera work. “And Warren the cartoonist, his face underwater was an absolute peach,” said Clarkson. Aussie viewers haven’t been quite as generous with many dubbing the three hosts as clones of the original. But for SBS having both a local and international series is probably its best case scenario. The Aussie series can fill in the months in between UK episodes, allowing one brand to sit regularly in the 7:30pm Monday timeslot. Other international versions are due in the US, Russia and Germany. In tonight’s episode Jack Thompson is the “Celebrity in a Bog Standard Car” while Shannon Noll visits next week. source: www.tvtonight.com.au

Woohoo! Glad to hear series 2 has been greenlit Because we've been spared Shannon Noll here in the UK (we've manufactured produced quite enough of our own crap reality TV stars) I thought he was a girl until I read around a bit...

He's got quite a useful voice, but the musics a bit... er... modern for me. It's nothing personal - I've never been able to get into mainstream chart music, even as a kid.
Having said that, I should hate his cover of Don't Give Up with someone else who probably hasn't made it in the Northern Hemisphere (especially given that I really like Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush) - though she might have done and I wouldn't have noticed. But I don't. Actually I quite like it.

I don't mind Shannon Noll or Guy Sebastian. From series 2 onwards, everyone's crap. Except for Damian Leith and maybe Anthony Callea. Other than that, it's all completely hopeless.
Anyway back to topic. Saw it this week. Loved it. As for next week, I wonder what they got up to on Toorak Rd with that Tractor.
