TOP Gear Australia presenter Charlie Cox is leaving the SBS show to return to Britain. He will be replaced by jazz musician and former car show host James Morrison next year, SBS announced. Cox, who presented the first series with Steve Pizzati and Warren Brown, said he couldn't give enough time to the show due to business commitments. "My time on Top Gear Australia was very special and it was a fantastic opportunity to be part of launching an extraordinary series," Cox said. "Sadly, though, I've lived in the UK for the past 19 years and I'm not able to give the time I want to series two. "It seems best to leave the show and I wish James all the best in joining the two best blokes in Australian television, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati." Top Gear Australia, the first original version outside Britain, premiered in September with mediocre ratings. Morrison, a legendary trumpeter and former Behind The Wheel host, said he was "thrilled" to be joining the team. "I don't want to sound like I'm blowing my own trumpet ... but I think series two is going to be bigger and better than ever. I just hope some of the challenges include playing a chorus of the blues," he said. SBS wished Cox well and welcomed Morrison aboard. "James brings with him a deep love of cars, a huge personality and a strong sense of fun - a perfect complement to Warren and Steve," SBS content director Matt Campbell said. www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,24823947-12377,00.html *********************** To bad. I liked him

I tried to post this at stupid o'clock this morning, but the university network throws a paddy with proboards from time to time and it kept chucking me out of this thread. I was initially surprised when I saw the post at Final Gear, mainly because the poster accidentally announce that Warren was going (but he's not, it's definitely Charlie). Anyway, I was so-so about James Morrison, though I thought he made a good SIABSC, until I saw this au.youtube.com/watch?v=QXHiATcoem0He's done this kind of thing before, and I think he's actually rather good at it

As much as I supported him, I thought Charlie was the weakest out of the three. James seems like the kind of guy that knows what he's talking about. Only time will tell.

I dont think Charlie had much choice over leaving and they sighted his UK commitments as a way of saving face in the public eye - instead of saying they didnt like him, so we gave him the boot lol
That said, I feel for Charlie, he had the biggest boots to fill which I think put him more in the spotlight to be analysed and critisized then the others.
I think James will be good - sort of cute that a "James" came into TGUK in season 2 and finished off the puzzle, lets hope its the same for TGA!

I mean obviously Wazza was the best, but Charlie was really starting to grow on me, inspite of it all. James Morrison... harumph! I just can't think of him without thinking of that A.A. Milne poem of the same name. Oh well, I will always keep a little candle burning here for Charlie.

Is it just me or did James Morrison lost some weight?

Oh yes definitely he has. Made himself bootylicious for TV *sniggers meanly* Good on him. I mean who wouldn't attempt to lose weight getting the job of TG Presenter. I sure would. Along with going for multiple cosmetic procedures
