Y'know I could say rather a lot about our thieving MP's with their overpaid wage packets, expense/allowance accounts and a pension that never goes down......at least Jez makes money for the Beeb........ohhhhh I'm mad

I am very, very angry. MPs have far more important things to deal with than complaining about a TV presenter saying something silly. Like, in beardy's case there, protecting the prostitutes in his constituency from being murdered by lorry drivers.Stupid man

Here we go again! I had a major rant last night to blood vessel bursting point about the beeb and idiots that jump on the complaining band wagon. This country is doing my nut in and destroying my soul I shall stop before i well and truly "go off on one"

I was half watching the C4 prog about "ManuelGate" last night and it really does boil down to everyone over-racted. Grand-daughter even said she didn't really want them sacked! Here we go again... Grrrrrrrrrr

This has long been my fear, especially since last weeks fiasco. Some People would love to see him brought to his knees. I think it's about time the BBC and anyone who is vaguely sensible nipped all this nonsense in the bud and quickly, before people get hurt. Although I will say, and this is not having a go at him or TG, but someone should have had a little think before this was said and realised that in the current hysterical climate, it might not have been wise. One day, and hopefully not this day, he will be shot down in flames and the world will be much sadder place because of it.

May I suggest anyone who feels strongly about the way the BBC is handling this, or wishes to appeal for calm in the face of national hysteria, goes to www.bbc.co.uk/feedback/ and registers their thoughts? MPs getting involved in a row over something that upset 0.0025% of the audience of a television programme at the time of airing is utterly ridiculous. Actually, I may write to the Labour Party to complain about Beardy wasting taxpayer's money, because although I do appreciate there may be certain sensitivities in his constituency, when you look at the figures, politicians wading in does seem to be overkill. And Ly, sadly I agree with you. I suspect it would have been better for all concerned in the current climate if the comments had been cut. We wouldn't have missed them - we'd have been none the wiser - and the nay-sayers wouldn't have been handed such convenient ammunition

It's like the vultures are waiting........for the kill though as I've always believed if Jez couldn't do his thing he'd tell them to F**k off and leave and just write......which would be so sad

The people who should be getting flak for it are the ones who said it would be OKAY for those comments to be aired. They were apparently passed as fit to broadcast by somebody........no idea who though.

They have a huge list of dos and don'ts, they could have edited them out but really it's only Jeremy. Funnily enough when mention about something being a bit 'ginger beer' there was a huge fuss. The same comment was made in Eastenders and to my knowledge no fuss was made at all

sorry I missed something. What are you setting up a petition for? I've had second thoughts, for Colin Mole MP to get a life and leave Jeremy alone. This chap is only trying to raise his profile by jumping on the band wagon and to be quite honest, this man shouldn't be in politics. No wonder this country is going to pieces.

People really are too easily offended these days. That's the whole truth of it. I've noticed that too, I was a bit annoyed the other day that, despit getting to work early, there still was no space in the car park. All the students were pouring in through one gate, but I wasn't allowed to drive out of the other gate "Because it isn't allowed". So I had to drive through all the hoards of students to get back to the main gate. Later one of the security blokes stopped me in the corridor and said I'd upset his mate because I didn't look very happy about the situation! And that's another point, it's people being upset for OTHER PEOPLE not the peole who are allegedly being upset in the first place!

Have any of the friends or relatives of the dead women in Ipswich come forward to say, Jeremy Clarkson really offended me? They haven't - not that I am aware.

I get a sinking feeling every time a new series of Top Gear airs these days. It's like it's not allowed to be this successful because it's everything the sandal-wearing lentil-munchers hate. It is three middle-aged, middle class white blokes being 'real' (by which I mean, they aren't hiding behind a mask of political correctness and being constantly wary of treading on toes), joking about the sort of things their audience might joke about down the pub, and having the temerity to drive cars! With engines!! That burn hydrocarbons!!! That will destroy the world and murder polar bears!!!!
In sociopolitical terms, TG is a fossil. However, it is a very popular one (like the ones at the Natural History Museum!), and it's not dead yet, much as the Guardianistas would like to see it gone. That's the thing with fossils - once the science of paleontology only knew about the coelecanth from the fossil record; they were a tad surprised when someone caught one in a fishing net several million years after they were thought to have died out. There is a place for the coelecanth, and likewise, one of these days the PC brigade will have to recognise there is a place for TG too...

I think if we are going to comment on Mr Mole's website, we need to be polite and reasonable, making balanced and well thought out statements on recent events. He needs to realise that Top Gear fans are a sensible bunch of people who don't actually think killing prostitutes is necessarily a good idea, but that we know the difference between a statement of fact and a joke. It's ok to *think* he's a complete (insert appropriate epithet) while writing to him though, because after all, it's the thought that counts.
*needs that devil smiley again*
Does he complain about computer games like Grand Theft Auto? They're tremendous fun, but you score points for killing prostitutes in that. And why is he calling for Jeremy to be sacked when the comments were checked for compliancy with the appropriate codes and passed as fit for broadcast? And for that matter, does he realise how many people may lose their jobs if Jeremy loses his? I can't see James or Richard being prepared to carry on in the face of a reaction like that. And making The Stig sign on would just be cruel. He wouldn't understand the forms, he'd have terrible trouble with the telephone interview and I suspect he would try to mate with the jobsearch computer things.

It's a sad fact we all know that our JC tends to be.. to put it mildly... quite un-PC. I for one think that is great; we don't need to fuel the damn 'lentil munchers' (to quote Wy) However, with the power the people have at the moment with their winging, Jeremy might be forced to curb his tongue... or at the very least there will be more work for the editor. It's the production teams fault really; in light of the crap of the past two weeks, they need to be more audience aware. It's sad.. but appears to be reality.

Does he also know how much revenue would be lost for the Beeb, if things all went belly up and Jeremy and Andy decided to end their agreement with BBC Worldwide and their merchandising endevours? Including Amphicars for the bath and Stig keyrings.

From reading reports of people who saw Jeremy yesterday, he hasn't calmed it down. However it is the editor, Brian the Director, Jeremy and Andy who decide what will and won't go into the show. I guarantee that there will be something or someone having a moan about the muscle cars film. If all else fails the can pixelate and bleep everything out and do the show in morse code. That would be fun. Not. They'll tone it right down for the Daily Mail readers and throw a few kittens (no animals were harmed) in for good measure

ON HH there were reports about James and the size of his *ahem* because he has a Fiat Panda and is hugely endowed. (that is sooooo true) That won't go in. Also when I went last week they made loads of comments about Ross and Brand and answer machines, they didn't go in. It won't be hugely edited but it'll be verging on the edge ;D Just how it should be ;D
