You are very welcome MG, it was lovely to see you today as always, even though it was all too briefly. Anyway I promise this is my last one before I slope off back to lurking but I thought this one was rather nice..

Yay! Doesn't he look like a happy bunny? They'd already done a trade signing before this one, but who knows. He was in good spirits.

Thank you, RM. These are great pics. I especially love this one. He's got a beautiful smile that could light up any room he enters. Sorry for double post but I pressed the wrong button, I wanted to add this one as well

I forgot to mention, I can't remember if I said thank you to Oz and especially James for signing my books, but thank you! I really appreciate the help Oz gave me and James for being James I feel bad as the PR/PA/protector/MI6 scarf man drew my attention away from being polite, which isn't acceptable.

Glad everyone else had a good time, I ended up with the Pievy lot in the queue and having tapas after. Oz was a lot more talkative than James, and I'm peeved that being in London bothered me more than I expected, and I only managed "Er, yes," when asked if Random was my real name (I really didn't want to bore him with explaining why I don't use my legal name) and then completely failed to ask Oz if he could recommend a pub nearby as I'd planned to. Still, at least I didn't do what someone a couple back from me in the queue did - she put her arm round James and then fiddled with his hair. I didn't see it, as I was fighting down a panic attack from having a bunch of people blocking my way to the door, but Sarah, who I was chatting to, said James was shaking after that. I was... unimpressed, and getting progressively more uncomfortable with being inside, so went out for a smoke and then found Lew and people... who I promptly lost again. oops. Anyway, nice to meet people, if briefly.

Oh, that is not nice to get in his space like that. Poor James May. Hope it didn't spoil his day.

Wow, there are some lovely pics on ths thread! Glad everyone who went had a good time. Looking forward to reading any reports. Honestly! You'd think that, by now, people would know that James is not a touchy-feely person, especially with strangers, and would therefore approach him accordingly. Poor bloke.

It was fantastic to meet you all! I completely failed to find you DOWNSTAIRS at Pizza Express *headdesk* aferwards but the queue was jolly. And for those who weren't there, I took some of my homemade Scottish Raspberry vodka in a hip flask with a (horny) devil on it and they both tried some, said they liked it and saved it for the next signing *sigh*. I behaved very well this time and gawsh I'm all swoony and moony and teenagery....

I got the feeling, from the way she moved, that she probably had bad Aspergers or the like as she reminded me a lot of a woman in one of my social groups. A few months ago, she was behind me while I was talking to someone else and grabbed my hair, when I had extensions, and declared "You should just have your own hair, oh and you're going grey, you need your roots done." Her reasoning was that as she had severe Aspergers, and didn't understand social interaction, she shouldn't be expected to listen or apologise when she's told that she's done something inappropriate, even if she agreed that she would probably have been annoyed if someone had done the same to her. She also insisted that having read someone's internet posts was the same as knowing them, even if you'd never made your presence known to them, and they didn't read yours... Because of her, the London meetings are no longer generally announced, they've become invite only.

Thank you also, Randon, for letting us know how it goes. God, I have to say, poor James. I'd be shaking too. I can't stand strangers invading my personal space or touching me. James is the same way, so I can imagine how horrible and violated he must have felt. I hope some of you were able to cheer him up after that ordeal. Thanks again.

Well he was presented with beer, belgian chocolates and the aforementioned hipflask after, as well as a toy Fiat and a Keep Calm and Carry On mug, so I'm sure he cheered up, yes. It rattled me more than I expected it to, but I think a lot of that was just the realisation that London isn't my home any more.

Hope somebody took something for Oz too! Poor lamb!
Just thinking how young James looks here. I am so shocked somebody would even presume to go so near as to touch his hair; and I am appauled and disgusted really. God you wouldn't do it to someone else. It struck me not only is he a bit timid and not a touchy feely person, maybe he has a genuine phobia or a OCD about all that stuff.

It might explain why he was somewhat subdued when we all got there. Maybe every woman made him feel nervous. Was a lovely day though. Nice to meet you all, however briefly. Wish I could have said something to James apart from thank you. I did manage to ask Oz how he was though and he said fine and that James was tired to which i said he always was!! Ooops. Great to meet Maygrail, Rhapsody, Amy, Sarah, etc, and of course Vixen who is now soooooooo in love with Oz it's just a matter of time really. ;D
