LOL well done Linden! Must have been by milliseconds! ROFL I find this so funny. Little things, etc! I would delete mine, but your 'Beat you!' would then make no sense. So guess we'll leave it, unless admin want to deal with! But apologies for the double post anyhow, folks! I didn't check back here till after I'd read the column and posted my comment, which was no more than tedious waffle, I'm afraid!

Good job both of you. I just posted mine as well. I can relate, and you'll see why. My uncle had one of those pop up campers that you have to tow. I loved the trips we used to take together when both of our families would get together for camping weekends. He had just as much trouble as James, but James went into great detail about how troublesome it is to back one up. God, he explains things the same way my husband does. No wonder I ......... well, you get the idea. Good luck everyone, and I can't wait to see what you're posting when they come up.

Somehow I will be surprised if they do put up my comment. ;D You'll see what I mean when they do.

I don't think they would keep it off. At least I hope they don't. You've got me curious now.

Just read James' new column. Sounds like the poor man is having a heck of a time with reversing and parking. I haven't commented yet. I'll do that over the weekend.

My Dad could teach James all about the care and handling of an unwieldy caravan - he's an expert after many summers of towing said caravan hundreds of miles from our home in Pennsylvania to the balmy southern shores of South Carolina and Florida. Add four screaming, rowdy kids in the backseat who commandeered the radio, and you have a recipe for family fun.
Canterville, that's a lovely avatar you have. Richard has really got the "come hither" look mastered.

Blackopal-- Thanks! Yes, I wandered onto the Richard threads and he seduced me! One look into those big brown eyes and I was lost! So, I made this from one of the photos there. It's my first avatar.

*Feeling a bit sheepish and hanging head low.* Please don't hate me, but I posted an extra one. (puppy dog eyes to everyone who reads this) All I did was recommend a brewery and camp sight close to where I live. Granted, I'm not sure exactly how to get to that camp sight. I've only seen it in Thetford Forest along the train tracks between Brandon and Thetford.

OT but there is NO WAY that I would go camping in Thetford Forest. Not even in a caravan. Have you seen the size of those wild pig things that roam about the place ? Scare the living daylights out of me (I'd be rubbish on a safari ;D). Southwold is very nice, though. I wonder if they'll go there to check out the Adnams Brewery as part of their adventure?

Hi Porschepolo, I wasn't aware of the wild boar. I know sometimes on my way to work, I have to dodge deer and pheasants. Now that I know this, I'll probably never camp there either and wonder how others who do deal with them. Thanks for letting me know. Lindenchase, Ah-ha. LOL ;D

Surprised they put it up. They don't have a great sense of humour. I once dared Beckstar to post a comment in which she said she would let James sleep with her if he got rid of the shirt of doom. She did, but it never made it. ;D

Maureen, I wasn't sure if they were boar or pigs (or if there is even a difference They seem to hang out along the edge of the A11 whenever I pass through. Would put a serious dent in my car if I was unlucky enough to bump into one on a dark night.

Sometimes, I'm not sure if they're one in the same either. They cook up good though. I certainly wouldn't want that to happen to you or anyone else here, Porsch. Scarey thought.

Right I'm thinking of starting James's column a weekly thread rather that one huge thread.....easier to refer to, has anyone any thoughts

I think that would work, Lew, if our way of posting/bouncing off each other happened in an organised, structured way on a week-to-weekly column basis. But there always seems to be a certain amount of overlap where comments emanate from other comments and it all seems to snowball and become a kind of general chat area! I don't envy you your task! I think it'll be more complicated with weekly threads - that'd be 52 in a year. And then how would we remember which week it was that so-and-so said something, if we wanted to go back? (I know there's the search, but that depends on remembering key words.) You have 60 pages after 9 months of the Board being in existence - approx 6.6 pages a month, so if you wait till the anniversary of the Board you could have another 20 or so pages. Why not start a new thread for Year 2 of the Board? ( I so shouldn't have picked up on this, I have WORK to do . Anyhow hope this gives you some food for thought; be interesting to see if anyone else has any ideas! Hope I haven't bored you rigid, Lew! Right I'm off to the day job!)

No not at all........trouble is, proboards have a nasty habit of posts going awol if a thread gets too big, thats why we do a monthly thread for the morning/afternoon......anyway I'm thinking so carry on may be an idea .....and thanks

A thread a week would mean there is soon going to be a enourmous list of them. Why not simply start a new thread "James - Telegraph II - and when that gets to 60 pages "James - Telegraph III - etc?
