Apologies if this has already been noted. The Beeb's press release makes it sound rather good: Music To Drive To Saturday 21 March 10.30-11.00am BBC RADIO 4
Presenter James May explores the idea that listening to music whilst driving can change lives.
Hearing just the right piece of music, at the right time, with just the right scenery in front of you, could be an unforgettable moment. In this programme, people tell their stories of driving and how music in the car has had an impact on their journeys, and, subsequently, their lives.
James hears from a bandsman who was stopped by the police as a result of listening to Walton's First Symphony in his brand new BMW six series. He also hears from a family who crashed into the M11 central reservation in their yellow Metro. In the immediate aftermath of the crash, they think they are hearing an angelic chorus – until they realise that the cassette of Beethoven's Fifth is still playing.
One woman learnt to love her new single status as a result of hearing Roger Daltrey singing I'm Free on the car radio whilst driving away from the divorce courts in Glasgow.
BBC TV's Top Gear presenter James also reveals his own musical driving memories and habits.
Presenter/James May, Producer/Rosie Boulton

Hope someone is super awesome and records it Although I'll actually be up at at that ungodly hour here in the US that day. Songs definitely can influence driving. Both of the speeding tickets I've gotten happened with the same song playing. There's a reason I have to skip it in the car now heh.

Thank you, Lucy. I can't wait to hear it. I usually have to listen to something relaxing, otherwise I drive too fast and get impatient if I listen to hard rock while I drive.

I am so happy, I found a free streaming audio recorder and I have just tested it and it works!! I will be able to get a copy without pleading with a traditional radio!

Reminder for the other non-uk members: you can listen to radio programmes on the BBC I-player. It only blocks tv programmes.
