Thanks, Lindenchase, but this shows how thick I am about some aspects of the internet: I've downloaded - I get a message saying 'A download was completed. Please check your download location or retry.' Where the hell is my download location? I've tried my libraries and can't find it. It didn't give me chance to say where to put it before downloading. I'm working in Internet Explorer 9, by the way. Have you tried the Search funtion? If you search for James May - The Great Train Race[/i] it should come up. My downloads always go directly to the map Downloads, so that's probably the map Sendspace looks for.

Recorded it with a video recorder, but now turns out I really need the remote control that my mum's friend didn't give with the telly to be able to watch the video.... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, will soon find a way anyway to watch JMTS. (Spotted Mr and Mrs May at Fremington at one point, cheering their lad along). Oh, I didn't see that! I'll look out for that when I rewatch it - so typical of what we know of James. Oh that's so cuuuuute!

I'm working in Internet Explorer 9, by the way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Are you using Windows 7? On mine, they go into a 'downloads' folder, which is under Computer - Local Disk (C): - Users - Aitch2803 (That bit is unique to me - it'll be whatever you've called your computer!) - Downloads I can't remember whether I set that downloads folder up when I first got my computer or whether it did it that automatically the first time I d/l anything. As lindenchase says you could also do a search from the start menu; finally, I'm sure there's a way of searching for downloads through IE9, but I use Google Chrome so wouldn't know how to guide you. For those that can't torrent, I've uploaded my recording of the show here.[/color] Starts about 4mins into the recording.

Thanks to Lindenchase and AP, I have finally sorted out my downloads, and I'm very grateful. As usual, I was just being a bit thick. With computers, I'm pretty good at the things I know how to do, but being self-taught there are a lot of gaps in my knowledge that are simplicity itself to others!

I haven't seen this yet. I put the machine on to record and child 2 decided to override and record a film instead. I wasn't impressed until she told me it's repeated tonight at 7. Phew.

Highly entertaining and rather sweet. Good to see the local Community supporting the venture. I rather liked the Germans - they were sporting.

Finally got the chance to watch the program this afternoon. How marvelous was that?!?! ;D Very sweet and touching. I agree with you Dit, it had a certain innocence that carried throughout the entire show.
Loved it!! ;D ;D

I really loved this show. I thought it was great how so many people cared so much to pull off this entire venture. I was so thrilled for James in the last few minutes when his Scotsman pulled itself to the finish! It was so nice to see the emotion that he expressed when his little train succeeded. Really just great. It certainly should win a BAFTA or whatever award they give out in England for shows of this type.

Just finished watching that. For lack of a better description...it was fun. I was royally amused by the Germans attempting to power a train with sauerkraut. And being a renewable energy nerd...happy that the fuel cell train won. Loved how things went right for them, loved how happy James was at his Flying Scotsman making it to the end. It's a show that made me smile.

Agree with everyone here, it was very entertaining and fun to watch. Just absolutely loved the part where James is standing on that bridge in that glorious light, waiting and waiting, and then suddenly spotting Oz...Such a variety of facial expressions. Nearly brought me to tears. This will definitely be burned on dvd for future reference..

Yes, I agree, that waiting part was awesome.....
However, I was watching it with my brother, and he wanted the Germans to win..!! And I must admit, I firstly was for England, but then my brother started to convince me that we, us Dutchers, used to be German people. But of course I truly wanted the Flying Scotsman to make it to the end, whether there was a race or not... But watching it with my brother is, just like when watching TG, different, as in: when I watch TG or JM Toy Stories, I watch it to see James, how he reacts on things, how, well, how he puts a lot in something to go for it, but when watching it with my bro it grows to us being for someone to win, more competitial-ish. When I watched the last JM Toy Stories alone, I didn't care AT ALL who was going to win, just as long as the F.S. would make it to the end.
Love by the way the chemestry between JM and Oz. ;D

It works for me. Are you a member of TheBox? If not, you have to set up an account first. Apparently they are open for new members. If they are not, PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you an invite.

That one works as well, but is not HD. If you can spare the space on your Harddisk, I suggest you download the HD one. Much better quality.

FINALLY got to watch it today. My reaction was the same as the first time I saw JM on the Moon; namely, to go "aww" a lot. It was really, really sweet - and I don't mean that in a patronising way. Full credit to the producers and everyone else behind the scenes for making a fairly niche endeavour (which I probably wouldn't be interested in under normal circumstances) into something very enjoyable. It was some of the best TV I've seen in ages - and not just because James was in it, either. But that helped. I was also particularly interested in North Devon itself...guess where I'll be in a few months' time. ;D Loved seeing it from the air; can't wait to see it from the ground!
