You'd think, when you log into AS, you could access your account and see if you've been selected that way?

No, that's too sensible and convenient! Why would you be allowed to do a thing like that?

I got the email - and I live in Australia....
I applied for July the 1st - would cost me AU$2,500 in airfares if I get the tickets. Seeing as how I live on the other side of the world, I dont like my chances but that is one problem I wouldn't mind having ;D

That was the whole idea, yes, that everyone on the reserve list gets an email and then everyone requests tickets for one date which are allegedly allocated on first come first served.

I have a question for any of you who have been lucky enough to receive tickets in the past... I notice under the 'terms and conditions' that it states that parties have to have a 50/50 male-female ratio... is this enforced? I will be going (hopefully) with my sister, so will I have problems with this?

Historically it's been ok to have a full female group but as it's just 2 of you then it should be fine. otherwise you could claim it's sexist ;D

LOL! ;D Thanks MG!... I thought it may be the case that they'd implement only in the case of a large party of same-sex applicants?

I have been quietly panicking wondering about this - we have asked for two - me and my daughter. We were thinking of hijacking two blokes in the queue if all else fails - might still do

Surely if you are selected for tickets, and you let the people in charge know that it will be 2 women together (draconian - we can look after ourselves) then that should be OK. Maybe they just need the courtesy of you letting them know and then everything will be ok.
