maidofastolat - That's the Power of James ............. so glad your trip was all that you hoped it would be. Book signings are a chance for people to meet their heros, maybe that guy behind you was getting a book signed for somebody else so didn't really want to be there. Shame you didn't get the pics you wanted but you did get compliments of your poetry - now that's priceless.

Ever wished the ground would open up and swallow you at one of these things? Well I bloody do. James knows who I am, and commented on what I'd been saying elsewhere re: the lego project.

Maidodastolat, I'm so glad you had a wonderful time as did everyone else. I'm slightly envious that I was too busy to go this time. Pantropia he looks everywhere and knows everything. In this respect he's a bit like Father Christmas.

With a greater capacity for causing utter mortification. I think it's just as well I'm double-booked for the 28th!

I doubt he'd be mad enough to wander in here. He does read a couple of more car-related forums occasionally, though, and that's what he was commenting on to me. What he said, if anyone's interested, and now that I've calmed down enough to remember was that he'd read some of what I'd said and it was probably justified. I don't think I said anything that would have been read as a criticism of him, but that would probably depend on how much control he had of the various projects. Even without his other commitments, I would have expected an awful lot of delegation, but I may have been against a decision he took, who knows. He also said that in the end he thought it was for the best that the lego house came down so quickly and would be remembered at its best, which was my view of it as well.

I'm not a fan of fan-fiction, in fact if I'm honest I find it slightly cringeworthy. I always imagine our three guys, miles from home in some hotel room getting really drunk and bored and for a laugh visiting these sites.

Now MA they'd have to be members, and as far as I know none of them are not, so to see the very best bits of this board, members they'd need to be. I don't mind the fic, infact we've had some great ones, real corkers, but which I mean funny...and even my coat has featured ;D So each to their own, and I'm ready for any funny TG business ;D

I'm pretty sure they know about the fiction, and the stuff we have here is far less, erm, interesting than you might find on some other sites I post on could mention... ;D

I always imagine our three guys, miles from home in some hotel room getting really drunk and bored and for a laugh visiting these sites. I always wonder about this - famous people actually looking at sites like this... and well the way I look at is - what would you do if it was you who was the celebrity? Most normal people (particularly celebrities I would imagine) have a certain sense of ego and it's human nature & curiosity to want to know what other people think / say about you. This is why people gossip in the first place. Also quite a lot of celebrities admit to "googling" themselves regularly to see what's being said about them, and I'm sure there are some of us out there who have "googled" our own names to see what's come up! Anyway my point being that if I was a celebrity I would look at site like this about me to get a fans point of view I would not otherwise get and an ego boost etc. So yes I think the guys have looked on here before whether drunk or not. (Sorry if I seemed to be rambling there )

You make an interesting observation and from what's already been said we know James is aware of this site but somehow I can't quite see him reading all our ramblings about how sexy we find him. He isn't your average film star who seek adoration. OK, in some threads there are some more intellectual points made but he'd have to trawl our swoonings to find them. No, I reckon the guys would only come here when drunk.

Or possibly come here and then get drunk in an attempt to un-see it. A few years ago, someone wrote me into a Doctor Who porn fanfic. I would probably have been offended, except it was far too funny for that. It's happened a few times since then. I am still trying to work out why everyone seems to write me as a dominatrix.
