If I wasn't already going to London two weeks later, I might actually have come over just for this one.

Aww I want to go Is it wrong that I'm acctually quite upset about the fact i can't? lol. London is to far for me... my friends arent May fans, so wouldnt fancy the journey with me... and Im not going to London by myself from North Wales on the train, since I get anxiety on trains. And I have college deadlines. Oh poo James & Toys- Playing with James (that sounds rude, I mean toys!) would be my dream come true.

I was expecting just to take my booking email along so when a recorded delivery letter arrived this morning I was a bit concerned it was a court summons or something!

Looks like good fun. Maybe you could bring him something nice out of Plasticine, or a replacement LEGO Fusker

I have my ticket too.....slightly annoyed about it though, as I KNOW that I requested that my ticket be kept there to be picked up on the day. Have endured much mickey taking from TOH today about this, as the envelope was addresed to him, and he opened it....joy

Mine came today too, so excited ;D. I'm not sure if there's been a bit of a cock up lol. I booked the double ticket offer for £30, which is 2 adult tickets with a voucher for the free signed book, and they've sent me 3 tickets. Which could be good but could be bad as I'm not sure which two are supposed to be ours. Don't know what to do really

Does anyone know what tube station we need for this? I don't know that part of London... It's about equidistant between Kings Cross St Pancreas and Euston. (it's just opposite the British Library - the BL website suggests buses 10, 30, 59, 63, 73 and 91. Look out on the 10, you never know who might be catching it to the Fair... )

Having a lovely time! James is on form today, and he's wearing his lovely Christmas jumper! Unfortunately they've run out of Airfix kits but there's still plenty of Plasticine. And yes - I finally told James that his Sodding Tree Was A Bloody Pain In The Arse ;D He looked very sheepish, said it was his idea and apologised - so I think he's forgiven.

Agh - when will the TG3 think of coming north once in a while? Lincoln, Nottingham, Peterborough, Leicester, Leeds, Sheffield or Hull would be good....

Sounds like you had a good time, I kinda get the impression that you've met James lots of times, how wonderful that you can say things like this to him and get a favourable and priceless response ;D ;D

It was a good day at the Toy Fair, thoroughly enjoyed my time there too. One thing that did concern me though was that a woman, quite loud she was too, simply just threw herself at James and it was noted that he looked quite taken aback. Having read this forum for a while now, it seems that it's not the done thing to just simply launch yourself at the poor man, decorum should be applied at all times. Having a relative that had taken part in the Meccano programme of Toy Stories, James was a perfect gentleman throughout, only having seen for myself today this "showing off" it really made me sit up and think that James has to be one of the most placid celebrities around today.

He's really leery about being touched. I'm not sure why. I think he's just not a very touch-y person. And he can tolerate it better from women than men.
The Meccano thing was really neat. I think the whole program could have devolved into a middle-aged man's wooly reminiscences except that he's getting the community involved in it, so it's not just about him.
If you were there, we of course want to hear stories.
And welcome to the forum

From what I have read so far sounds like an entertaining day out!
As for the woman who "threw herself" at James.... well if she knew anything she would know not to do that.... how rude of her!!!!
Looking forward to more reports and pictures please :-) please :-) please :-)
(see I asked nicely)

Poor James! The more famous he gets, (and this year he has surely become a household name,) the harder he has to pay. How soon before he can't go down the pub, some bother him there already, I know. He is so open, practically telling us his house number as well as the name of his watering-hole, he exposes himself to well, danger I suppose. Can you imagine if he just wanted to do some shopping in town. He'd be mobbed nowadays. Stay safe James, from we who will always continue to love and respect you x
