Hello, It's Elaine, I'm back again. Golden Oldie with great admiration for James and the stuff he does, particularly his own TV shows and his Telegraph columns. (Love Top Gear - not a fan of the Hamster but find Jeremy very amusing - his writing is great.) I've been to four booksignings now, not a doddle as I live in Nottinghamshire, but James has always been very pleasant and kind, so well worth it. I write poems sometimes which I post in the Telegraph column's comments.

Well, actually Hops, I've put two points of view so far and been shot down with both, so think I'll just shut up and continue with the lurking Thanks for the welcome from you and the lovely XJ. This is still the best place for everything Jamesy, so enjoy.

Hello, I'm Helen. I'm a huge TG fan - have been since it started way back in 1977 (eeep!) and I blame it for turning me into a huge petrol-head. I love all the presenters, both on TG and their individual projects, but it's their interaction as a group on TG that really does it for me. That, and the genius that is Andy of course It'll take me a while to fully get into things on here as I'm really shy, but I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. Some of you I may already know from other boards - I'm around on HH and FinalGear to name a couple.

Welcome to the Board, Andypanty, and I'm soooooo jealous at your pics - you lucky lady! What was Jeremy saying in the central one? Whatever it was, it obviously made you laugh!

You mean Andy? Well, I was actually laughing out of embarrassment and disbelief. Long story - but I'll bore you all with it anyway I was with a group of friends when chatting to Andy, and he'd just asked me how I was (I was lucky enough to go to two filmings of the last series, meet him both times and this time he recognised me - so I may have been being slightly fangirly!). Anyway, before I could answer, my friend said "She's been unbearable since she met you, and it's got worse since that video clip of your lucky pants, and all she's been saying since then is how much she'd like to see them." Poor Andy! Anyhoo, to his credit, he dealt with it all very well - and then showed me the pants!!!! So I can confirm that they are as tattered as he described!

Well, I've always thought Andy was pretty awesome, going back to the 'old' TG days, but that story has just confirmed it! Hurrah for Andy's lucky pants ;D

Hey everyone, I'm a newbie...nice to be here! My admiration for James is certainly what you would call "underground" - my friends would think I'm nuts if they knew - so it's good to know that there are other like-minded people out there I love all three TG presenters as well as both James' and Jeremy's writing. Although I do have a soft spot for Jezza in a strange kind of way, there's no doubt that James is my favourite. I finally realised this when I saw the motorhome racing ep a while ago with him making his pie (just HAD to make it my sig below). I was wetting myself laughing and still do now when I watch it. Very sweet...aww Looking forward to contributing...even if I don't have a whole lot to say that's terribly worthwhile

Hi Pie! Hope that you have a great time on the board! (Here's some superfluous information you really don't need - I have a cat named Pie. Actually when we got her as a kitten and thought she was a boy we named her Pirate since one of her eyes had black fur around it making it look like she was wearing an eye patch. When we found out she was a girl, and just in talking to her day to day, her name got shortened to Pie.)
